All I know is that Showtime is a hell of a lot better at putting up close, competitve fights. HBO is about money and superstars, boxing is not about superstars...that's Hollywood's job

I think boxing promoters are a disease thats driving boxing further underground and hbo is just an enabler.

This is true and then they don't want to lose their investments in tough fights so they try to fix it up nice and pretty like, lol
