I think I know what you mean, but I am not sure if it is regression. With a lot of fighters, they go stagnant unless they are thrown to the wolves. Vanes has been held in basically the same position for the past two years. I think he is just bored and unmotivated.

I think he may surprise a lot of people if given the right opportunity. It can do a hell of a lot for a fighters performance and motivation. He has been waiting in the wings too long. Lets throw him in with the wolves and see if he sinks or swims.

i think you are spot on 100%.... Top rank refuses to put this guy up against jcc jr and cotto and even before vs Yuri Foreman, because they dont want their cash cows to get demolished and they know its a very live possibility with Vanes. If Vanes was as bad as some of you indicate why would Top Rank, the best promo company out there, go out and renew a 5 year contract this past April with Vanes... This kid has all the talent in the world, but needs to be given an opportunity to shine...

sooner or later this fight will happen, either through the wbo mandatory or by choice... Vanes is ranked #3 with the WBO now and ahead of him are PWILL(moving down to 147) and Angulo (who Gary Shaw will never feed to Dzinziruk since Dzinziruk will box Angulo's pants off). so sooner or later uncle Bob will not have a choice. hopefully the fight is made before it gets to the mandate... lets see what happens.

Dibella... I think Sergio is looking for bigger US established fighters. although Sergiy is a champ and has a wonderful record, people dont want to fight him because of the risk vs reward factor. Imo Martinez wants Angulo, which is an easier for him and one that can pay more...

Vanes already wants the fight, its a matter of the promoters putting it together... tough fight, but one that can catapult the winner into some real competition for best light middleweight honors

I agree. The winner would become a major candidate to get some big fights at 154.

Hopefully Dzinziruk will hear that Vanes is calling him out and accepts the challenge.

i dont know man... roach does wonder with other fighters pac and khan , the latter has shown a huge improvement...however, vanes man, hes just not improving its the same ****, and he got a gift against ouma thts a fact...but against elite boxers he will get ktfo
