Comments Thread For: Chavez vs Wolak in Play For 9/11, Pavlik Bout Unlikely

Accoing to Top Rank's head matchmaker, Bruce Trampler, middleweight contender Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (41-0, 30KOs) will possibly fight junior middleweight Pawel "The Raging Bull" Wolak (27-1, 17 KOs) on September 11, likely in Mexico. Wolak's only loss came by way of decision to Ishe Smith. He doesn't have a problem with moving to 160-pounds to fight Chavez.

damn, not too surprised here. I was about to put a paycheck on pavlik for the win. I guess they came to their senses and realized pavlik probably isn't a stepping stone just yet.

For real, I knew that Jr. and his team were gonna find a way outta this. I can't blame them. Kelly is still a beast at 160, especially for a guy who will stand and trade with him.

I think Chavez jr. should fight Ishe or Vanes. those are fights that would be good for Jr.

Top Rank continues to protect Chavez who looked like he was in a train
wreck after his fight with Duddy. This "Wolak" was so horrendous on
the Yankee Stadium show that everyone was sending text messages
and making calls during his fight with James Moore, a boring lousy fighter
with no punch and moving up in weight, c'mon Trampler this is "Hall of Fame" matchmaking? Teddy Brenner must be turning his grave...

They need to stop protecting this kid, first I read that Jr could possibly fight Cotto my 1st thoughts on that was he would get murdered then they mentioned Martinez then Mayorga then Pavlik and to a certain degree I was well at least hes gonna face some top competition regardless if mayorga hasnt fought I would of given him the benefit of the doubt and to be mention with martinez or pavlik it was no joke but all Top Rank was doing all this time was buying themselves time to find him another possible chump or like my dad calls them ( aguacates ) Top Rank has become todays Don King Productions
