Right now they should refuse to do a ppv of pacquiao against margarito/cotto.

Also, someone or some company needs to buy out all the sanctioning organizations and merge them into one. Create one solid ranking system that is just and not corrupt.
    good post.

Arum in my opinion causes more damage than he does good in the Floyd vs Pac situation. I think he is a great promoter but he has played a big part in the biggest fight in many years not being made. Him constantly throwing out two names who happen to be in his promotional stable as alternates for Manny disgust me. There are other fights we need to see. It seems to me that Arum is being a hypocrite. He claims Bradley, Williams and Berto have no following or names but yet he makes a fight with Manny and Clottey. Clottey is lesser known than any of those 3 and he is not an American. I am assuming Clottey was ok because he was a Top Rank fighter.

In my opinion Arum sort of holds the boxing world hostage. For example guys like Bradley, Berto, Cotto, Williams and Alexander won’t make a move until they knows what’s going to happen with Manny and Floyd. That sucks for us, we are going into the 2nd half of the year. Just think about this, Bradley just fought. Alexander will be fighting in 2 weeks. So it’s safe to assume we won’t see either of them until early next year. Berto, Williams or Martinez have nothing lined up. They are all just waiting……. This one hiccup of a fight not being made has a negative domino effect on boxing. Arum not helping the fight be made lays some blame on him. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem!!
both sides deserve blame equally, IMO. they're all a bunch of ****ing liars....

forget who's telling the truth about what, and just come to the realization that everybody is lying about something or another. a fight this big, that must happen for the sake of the sport, won't be easy, but at the same time, it shouldn't be as impossible to make, as these dudes make it seem.

instead of proving superiority in the ring, it seems everybody is keen on flexing nuts at negotiation tables and in courtrooms. it's some girlie ****, and as the author pointed out, sad for the sport, and in the end, its the fans who lose the most.

The reason reason UFC is popular

I love boxing and like others, I have tried to get into UFC because of its popularity.

In my opinion, the main reason UFC is so popular is money. The fighters get paid very little. Even the top guys only make 500k. If you include the shady 'locker room bonuses', then the top guys still only make $1mil. The fighters have no choice because UFC is the only one paying real money, so they are forced to play ball.

However, in boxing there is enough money to go around. Pac-Floyd would each get $50mil while Sliva-GSP would each get about $400k. Pavlik got something like $2-3mil to fight Sergio. Hell, he got $1mil to fight Rubio and $500k to fight the other guy (Espinosa sp?). That means in his two joke defenses he made more than Silva at 2 UFC events (the UFC middleweight champ).

If UFC keeps growing, then one day the fighters will become more powerful than the promotion. When that happens, there will be no one to 'force' these match-ups.

The UFC is a monopoly. If you want money and name recognition, there is really only one place to be.

A few weeks ago there was an ESPN podcast they asked Dana White who David Haye is and he could not answer. Well, that was a BS question because the real champ (the RING champ) is VK. Well thats like asking who Muhammed Lawal is (the Strikeforce champ). MMA has multiple organizations that sanction different champs, but UFC is able to make people believe that they are the only ones.

One final rant. One problem is the fans. A lot of people say the RING champion is the only real champ. If that is the case, then the JMM-Diaz fight should be sold out. Its a RING champ in a rematch of a fight of the year. People need to vote with their $. Give huge support to RING title fights. Make it where RING champs are the real champs and the WBO, WBC, etc. are mere titlists that are stepping-stones to the RING title (the true title). The media needs to do this to (ESPN podcast on the SVP show, this is for you) and fans need to do this. If JMM-Diaz makes money, then maybe more support can be given to RING champions.

Ok you are either ****** or uninformed if you made a top five of all time list and you left Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson off the list and had the nerves to put Lennox Lewis, George Foreman and Hectore Camacho on over them that's funny as hell what are you thinking hell they wouldn't even tell you they were better then those guys.
