I know this has been posted before, but lets talk about it again.

Resto

to name a few, We all know and heard of the resent one Margarito with a cast like wrap.

Back almost 10 years ago it was Trinidad, putting tape on the skin and soaking the wraps in water, also made them very hard like cement.

Restos story is very sad, if you havent seen "assault in the ring", go watch it.
Not only did they take padding out of the glove, they wrapped the hands with something to make them hard and also gave Resto some energy juice of some sort in between rounds, this ended the career of Billy Collins Jr. who was 14-0 with 11KO at the time, he could no longer fight due to some major damage and drove him crazy (in a way) and he killed himself a year later.

Resto got 2.5 years in jail and was banned for life from the sport.
Margarito, 1 year paid vacation (or so it seemed)
What did Trinidad get?

Resto never boxed again

Margarito, without the wraps couldnt handle Mosley and got KTFO

Trinidad couldnt handle Hopkins and got KO, he later went to fight 4 more times, last 2 fight he loss, but he face Cherifi and Mayorga before those two losses, both fighters got KO. Now granted that both Cherifi and Mayorga are sitting targets for trinidad. Dont forget Cherifi was KO many other times by well known fighter, including felix sturm in 3. It has never been proven that Trinidad cheated, but ask Reid, Vargas and Joppy and they all said that they knew Trinidad was strong, but that when they faced him it was unreal. However De La Hoya didnt say anything to this matter.

So my question to you is, what do you think?

Yes he cheated by wrapping his hands in an illegal method but nowhere near as bad as Luis Resto or Antonio Margarito. Apples to oranges man, both fruits but completely different

Dude for *** sake you have the internet at your finger tips and you still can't do enough research to realize that Margarito did not and I repeat did not have a cast like wrap.


It was a ***ing insert that boxers use all the time in sparring sessions to protect their hands. Not saying thats ok because it is still against the rules but seriously man if you want to seriously discuss this subject for the millionth time at least know what you are talking about first.

Does anyone have any hard proof that Trinidad cheated? I'm glad that you made this thread because I keep hearing people say this, But nobody has ever provided me with any proof that he actually cheated.

From what I have heard (From Naazim Richardson who noticed the handwraps) was that Trinidad was putting more tape and gauze on his wraps and they wanted them re-wrapped because they felt he was over-doing it. If this isnt true then please let me know what really happened but I tend to think after the way Naazim has absolutley blasted Margarito that Felix didnt cheat because if he did, Then surely he would have done the same to Trinidad. But he never came out and blasted Tito like he did with Margarito, Presumably because Margarito had rocks in his gloves and Trinidad was just wrapping his hands more excessively than is normally the case.

I want somebody to clear this up for me.

He wrapped his hands using extra gauze, when Trinidad Sr. wrapped other fighters' hands they said they felt as though they had more power, hence the extra gauze in the wraps. It is cheating if you wrap your hands in a way that is against the rules, period. As I said it's nothing like Magarito or Resto.

Just like I thought, he didnt cheat. People need to realise, Naazim absolutley ripped Margarito for cheating but he said nothing about Trinidad after the fight. If he had something dangerous in his hand wraps then im sure he would have came out and said something to the media and made Trinidad look bad but he didnt. Meaning it wasnt serious, Nothing compared to what Margarito did anyway.

It's still pretty ****** to compare Margarito to Resto. They arnt even on the same level.
