For 5 Million Points : Who are You Picking in 2011

There may be a way to use the recent Floyd drama to highlight
OTHER BOXERS out there, lesser known but no less deserving
of our thoughtful consideration and discussion. Here goes...

Floyd's Make-A-Wish statements back in June seem to be panning
out, so I guess we can all look forward to another hiatus of the
    sport's self-proclaimed "G.O.A.T.".

"A year off, or a couple of years off", Floyd said.

    (at 1:10 of the video)

Let's assume it's just a year and that he'll be back in 2011.

When Floyd comes back, who do you think he will fight first?
Whether in a tune-up to shake off any ring rust, or else in a
legit challenge, who do you think it will be?

Based on his selection of Juan Manuel Marquez in 2009, we may
find that he won't be picking someone bigger or younger than
himself, or even picking from among legit welterweights or light
welterweights, for a tune-up. Lots of boxers fit this profile and
    deserve our attention.

Then again, he might fight the toughest hombre out there, right
off the bat. There are some real monsters out there, and they
    deserve our attention.

Again, I am putting up a pot of 5 Million points.
Who are you picking Floyd to fight first in 2011, and why?

    h.

P.S.: If Floyd doesn't fight at all in 2011, all bets are off.

P.P.S.: If this thread gets deleted before the fight, all bets are off.

Amir Khan. that'll be the $$ fight in 2011. plain and simple.

Amir will probably be 147 by then, cuz he damn sure ain't thinking about cleaning out jww. Plus the Mayweather name will make Khan a household name in the states win or lose...and we know Amir is GBP's next cash cow.

British fans already know Floyd from Hatton. They'll be supporting Amir big time. Mark it down, save this thread, 1st reply.

If Floyd comes back in 2011, he'll be fighting Amir Khan.

      Decent choice.
GBP backing will make for a pain-free contract nego.
He'll definitely have enough draw for the match to make $en$e.

The fact that he's got a glass chin will encourage Floyd, too.

That would be a great matchup, 2011 or earlier.

Better if 2011, because I DiBella may still be pissed at GBP for
locking up Barclay's Center for GBP fights from 2012 onward.

If one can connect that clusterfuck to NYSC's recent sanctions
against GBP, then no more need be said.

he might be fighting pacquiao. no tune ups. floyd might really want pac to fight a tough guy before he fights the man for reasons that pacs body might then be weary from his previous wars or if pac goes through a tough war that could affect his meantality (pac's mental toughness is currently high at the moment coz of his impressive wins to cotto, hatton, dlh and clottey).

agreed. i would like to see floyd fight before the year is out though.

would be awesome if it was pac. he walks through pac then goes on to tackle martinez the next year

You need to post that in the Fantasy Fights section bro, because that is all it is Fantasy.

                    ****, man...
That may be the only scenario that present evidence does NOT tell against,
wherein Pacquiao would be Floyd's first opposition in 2011.

However, who could Pac possibly fight between now and 2011 that could
POSSIBLY hurt him that bad? Arum's really circling the wagons to keep
Pac safe until next year. Present-day Margs can't hurt Pac. Cotto might
be able to, but not win. Pac would have to lose BIG for your scenario to
pan out (assuming of course, that's the scenario Floyd is actually gaming
for), and I just don't see Sponge-Blob Arum risking it.

                    h.
