      2) the U.S. never had a big presence in china. look at all the places that had a strong U.S. presence during American imperialism and you will see that boxing flourishes there. examples: Puerto Rico, Cuba, Japan, Mexico, Germany, etc... countries that the U.S. currently have a strong presence in like Iraq and Afganistan don't have a good boxing culture because Americans don't want to change the culture no more, they are just looking to stablize the region. but boxing isn't that big a sport in U.S. culture anymore either.

      The only way boxing will blow up in china is if a chinese boxer makes it big. chinese won't adopt Pacquiao like the Thailanders have. they are too proud.
      i thought Basketball is the one of big sport in the US and yao ming is doing very well at it. isn't it?
