If so, why? I thought we bashed Bernard Hopkins for fighting smaller fighters and avoiding top fighters in his division. Why is Dawson held to different standards?

Who has Dawson ever fought that was smaller than him?

Either way, Bute doesn't have the cojones to fight a B-class fighter, let alone Chad Dawson.

I mean, if Dawson actually did move down to 168 to try to fight Bute, that wouldn't be as bad (technically) as making Bute move up. But I'm really just asking the general question that if Cloud dominates Johnson or even stops him, will people still want to see Dawson move down to 168 to fight Bute? And other people have said this and I agree. Dawson doesn't need to move down. Because when he does, the guys at 168 will move up. He just needs to stay put and keep cleaning the division out.

I don't want to see Bute-Dawson I want to see

Winner of Super 6 vs Bute

        and

Dawson (if he beats Pascal) and Cloud (if he beats Johnson)

and then we could get Dawson-Cloud winner v Bute-S6 winner

That way we get 3 goods fights and a clear superior at 168 and 175.

I'm rooting for Johnson to beat Cloud too by the way. But I'll be pissed if Dawson doesn't fight Cloud if Johnson loses that fight. It's a duck to me if that happens is all I'm saying.

What's wrong with a catchweight of 170? The guy from 175 has to lose 5 pounds and the guy from 168 only has to gain 2. That isn't so bad. Bute-Dawson would be a great fight. I highly doubt Cloud will look as good as Dawson did the second time against Johnson anyway.

Cloud will not beat Johnson impressively, he had to go 10 against the shell of Gonzalez and and the full 12 against past prime Clinton Woods.

Coming off another year long layoff, Johnson's gonna be a problem. And I really like Tavoris' style, but if he couldn't destroy and dispatch of those 2 early, he's not on Dawson's level. Cloud could've gotten a fight against Johnson and then Dawson both on HBO if he wanted to, but chose to strip Dawson (who was legally obligated to fight the Tarver rematch) and fight Woods for the title.

If Dawson's gonna drain himself to make 168, he should be allowed to fight Bute with no criticism.

Bute vs Dawson is the bigger fight, Cloud vs Dawson is not a big fight, I like Cloud but he does't have the name yet and even if he dominates Johnson he still won't have the name but it will help create a buzz for him

I think it is HILARIOUS that some people think Dawson is "DUCKING CLOUD" when Cloud hasn't done anything yet that makes him worthy of a fight with Dawson but beat Glen Johnson will help no doubt, but let Cloud earn his way to the #1 Contender spot in the division first before trying to put him in the ring with the best in the division

but Dawson vs Bute is the bigger fight, it is NO DAMN WAY Dawson will turn down a big money fight with Bute to fight Cloud

Bute vs Dawson is a meaningless fight. I dont see the point of them 2 fighting!!

Bute fighting any of the super 6 guys(except Green) is more important and meaningful than ight Dawson at 170.

I would want to see Dawson-Bute only when both have cleaned out their own division.

                    It might take a while.
