For those ragging on Mayweather for moving to 147...

Floyd has a chance to become the undisputed wetlerweight champion in one fight...the welterweights have a big history in the history of Boxing with guys like Robinson and Leonard...

then he could probably move back down or wait for Hatton and fighters like Cotto who seem like they will be moving up any way to fight...

yes 140lbs has been Boxing golden age class...but I think welter will be the new in a short time...

Harris was KTFO and even if he wins vs Mousey in the rematch, I doubt anyone cares for him...

Gatti is moving up to 147...

    Judah moved up...

Kostya was beaten and may move up...

    Mosley recently moved back down...

Mayorga may be back down at 147...

We may see Forrest back at 147...

We may see DLH back at 147...

It is a matter of time before Cotto says he cannot make 140 anymore...

    We already have Margarito there...

We already have Corey Spinks there...

We already have Kermit Cintron there...

    Sharmba Mitchell is moving up...

When Floyd moves up to 147, and Hatton defends vs somebody like Mousey or Corrales...who else at 140 will he be interested in? that hasn't already moved up? I don't see Cotto staying at 140 that long...and no word on Kostya...the division is dying and welterweight is growing back into THE division...the golden division...

I don't see Cotto staying at 140 for long, even Hatton has a weight problem, so it wouldn't surprise me if Hatton moves to 147. Maybe this is the reason Mayweather is also moving up, who knows???

I think it is simply the fact that Floyd feels the combination of his better possiblity of beating Judah and the chance to be "UNDISPUTED" Wetlerweight Champion of the World which is a presitgious title in Boxing history is more appealing than a green Cotto, a fight with Hatton in his home country, and a Mouse...there is really no one else that is appealing at 140 for him to fight...Kostya is breaking...I am telling you guys...in 1-2 years..Welterweight will be THE division

Moving up to 147 to face Judah is a big, bold move on Floyd's part.
To criticize him for that. ....ridiculous. You'd only knock him for it, because you knock everything he does.

He is young, has NO WEAR & TEAR ON HIS TIRES......all the big fights you think he should be in, he WILL be in....

As long as he fights one of these guys next and then one of them after that:

          Judah
          Hatton
          Margarito
          Cotto

          I don't care what weight it's at...

Add Corrales and Castillo to that list, though those are less likely...

Hatton just won the reputable IBF title. If he moves up to 147, it'd have to be for title fight. I doubt he will move up any time soon, at least for the next year or two because I doubt he would be able to secure a title shot against the undisputed judah.
