Comments Thread For: David Tua's Career Stumbles, Draws With Barrett

The career of top rated heavyweight David Tua (51-3-2, 43 KOs) took a decent stumble on Saturday night at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Tua went to a twelve round draw with Monte Barrett (34-9-1, 20 KOs), who was fighting for the final time in his long career. Barrett had lost his last three bouts coming into this fight.

Barrett won that hands down, there were a lot of close rounds so I wouldn't call it a robbery, but that 115-111 Tua card was disgusting. I've made many jokes with Barrett being the butt of them but tonight he earned my respect. I wish him the best in his promotional ventures

Monte Barret aged better than Tua. Tua may still have his punch, but what good is it without the delivery system. His legs are gone.

I agree with you. I actually felt sorry for Barrett for taking the fight, now I feel sorry that he got screwed over by the judges.

It was blatently fixed, did you guys see how the announcer was about to announce scores, but then the judges called him back a second time to change the scoring?

                Corruption wins again.

                Disgraceful scoring tonight.

You'd think that 2 judges having the fight even would mean good, fair scoring but obviously....it doesn't as it was clearly not even after the final round.

Having Tua winning on the other hand,as one judge did, thats just blatantly corrupt.

This sport continues to disgrace itself with decisions like this one.

                Final analysis...Barrett was robbed, period.

Where are the fools that said Tua had a chance against the Klitschkos because they couldn't hurt or drop/stop him? He doesn't have a puncher's chance against them. Props to Barrett coming to fight in his final outing.
