36-0 at 122. Has fought and beaten better competition.
Fights top notch comp all of the time and never avoids a big fight.
Has only ever lost to Barrera, both times were close, and their second fight was very controversial.
He's never been knocked down and has one of the best chins ever seen at lighter weights.
Barrera has been dominated and KOed on more than one occasion...Morales hasn't. Jones and Pacquiao have both owned Barrera.
Erik is a more versatile fighter. He can take the lead and box using his range, he can sit back and counter punch beautifully, or he can go to war whenever he feels like it.
He could potentially be the first Mexican 4 class world champ at lighter weights. He is ambitious and it seems like everyone else is chasing him up the ranks.
He is fearless and NEVER puts on a bad show....he has a heart the size of Mexico.
This^^^ was my response to a similar question in another thread. I think Morales has more left in the tank than does Barrera and is much more ambitious. When all is said and done Morales will have the better legacy. As it is hes probably one of the 3 greatest 122 pounders ever. Morales can box/brawl/counterpunch/younameit and that is what will help him succeed at higher weights with more dangerous punchers. I don't see Barrera even having a chance against a fighter like Juan Lazcano, Julio Diaz, Acelino Freitas, Castillo or Corrales. If you look at both guys last 5 fights you'll see a pretty sizeable difference there too. Morales has been fighting nothing but champs day in day out.

El Terrible..despite him being 1-2 again MAB..could easily be the other way around..besides..Morales' body of work is FAR more impressive than MAB..thats just plain simple. Morales..has never been knocked down..much less dominated and ko'd like Barrera has.
