i bloody hope so! it depends on what mayweathers reasons are for not wanting to fight in november. or does he even want to fight pacquiao at all? If its to do with roger going to the slammer, then how long will he be sent down for? would he be out in time to train floyd for a fight with pacquiao in may?

If its to do with tax issues, then i can see the fight happening next may if thats what is really holding the fight back.

I see david haye gets slated left right and centre for keeping quiet during big fight negotiations, and mayweather has done exactly the same. He was running his mouth off on sky sports news at the beggining of the year about pacquaio and now when theres a chance to make the fight, mayweather goes into what seems like hiding! What happens if pac takes on margarito and gets beat? floyd will have just potentially lost the biggest purse of his career, so its in his intrests to fight pac. We will just have to wait and see what floyds reasons are.

      maybe.

right now pac would never fight someone who isnt tailor made for him. just straightforward, flatfooted, low speed etc fighters. but if he looks to retire sometime in 2011-2012 and the illusion on invincibility is no longer important to arum he will end with whatever fight brings the most money, and thats floyd.

but until then arum will protect his cash cow, keep him far away from fighters with boxing ability and spoon feed him easy oponents.

        good post.
the only way pacquiao can fight mayweather is with a new promoter.
but i think pac is happy this way, he is not the one who gets pwned by the fans.
its either arum or floyd, and both can live with us haters, they r used to.

No, I don't get why people even bother with these two when it comes to fighting each other. The fight will never happen with these two guys in their prime. The best you are going to get is a fight 3 years from now when they are both past it and can't get anyone to give them a major money fight. It's just like Roy V Bhop.

If PBF dont want to fight Pac what can you do about it? If its such an ordeal dont fight Pac then. I warn you better not fight Pac. Dont make out your some big shot and that i give a damn!

But yes more likely if this fight happens it will be like JC and RJJ, when no one is no longer interested. It will be when Pac and PBF are no longer no1 and 2 boxers in the world respectively. And new lions are on the scene. Khan will probably be the best by then.

Unless Arum is out of the equation we would never see the fight, Or Unless Mayweather and Arum can mend their conflict like De la Hoya did with Arum we would never see Mayweather against Arum's fighters.

I don't think it will ever happen. I don't think Floyd or Pac have made any legitimate effort to make this work, and are just falling back on excuses why it isn't made to try and legitimize the fight not happening.
