What can Floyd do to save face?

hehehe, he can follow valero.Look...I want this fight to happen, it would be my second most anticipated fight out there (Cotto/Margarito 2 is a war that is more appealing). It will solidify the best fighter of the 2000s and moving forward, with respects to those greats that retired or exited their prime during the mid 2000s.
Anyways, the bottom line is that Floyd is on the outside looking in. The media doesn't care about the details. The media and casuals only know that reps of Manny reached out and there was no response back. A third party mediator was used and his main manager seemed to have the primary concerns taken care of.
Negotiations unfortunately are apart of this sport that we love, however Floyd is in a pickle...and it was his own doing. Pac and Roach said that they will agree to whatever and said on Boxingscene that they will call Floyd's bluff...and they did. The big issue is that Floyd himself put the bullseye on his back on May 1st 2010.
After the fight with Shane Mosley, he said on live TV to over 1 million paying fans that the fight with Pacquaio is down if he agrees to RDT. Manny says that he will submit to RDT. Whether the 14 day cut off was pulled off the table or not, we don't know and its not relevant...the only thing is that Floyd said something on live TV and seemingly disregarded Pac's acceptance.
So I ask you, loyal boxing fans...what can Mayweather do to save face? Obviously the deal is not dead from Top Rank's perspective, Arum just announced that the exclusivity period for Floyd has expired and he will negotiate with others now. Floyd has first dibs. If Floyd does elect to fight within the next two weeks, then this post is null, however in the event that he doesn't...what does he do to save face in the interim?
Thoughts...

Its a shame, he didn't seem to have the energy nor pop to follow up with it...the old Miguel would have tee'd off on that body that was there, waiting to get pummeledComment

I can only imagine what would've happend if Manny's right arm was higher at the end of his combo, leaving his body open, and Cotto hitting him with a power body shot instead. I'm pretty sure that would've had more BIG impact, especialy since Manny just finished a 5hit combo, which most likely won't give him time to tighten up defensively for a bodypunch.Comment
