    At the Bolton Arena in Bolton, Matthew Hatton (40-4-2, 15KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Yuriy Nuzhnenko (30-2, 14KOs) to retain the EBU welterweight title. The scores were 117-110, 116-111 and 116-111, although the fight appeared to be much closer. Nuzhnenko, a former WBA welterweight champion, was Hatton's toughest opponent to date.       "Hatton Survives" says a lot. With the official scores, it says a lot more.

          It refers to the knockdown bright-spark not the entire fight, which he won easily with something to spare.
