LOS ANGELES, CA -- James "The Harlem Hammer" Butler, Jr., will stand trial on charges that he used a hammer to kill journalist Sam Kellerman and then torch his Hollywood apartment last October.
There is enough evidence on arson and murder to try James Butler Jr., said Judge Kevin Brown, during a ruling held yesteray.
Kellerman, 29, was found dead in his apartment on Oct. 17, 2004, but according to officials the crime took place five days prior.
Sam Kellerman was the younger brother of well-known boxing journalist and host of Fox Sports Net's boxing program "I, Max," Max Kellerman.
Butler, 32, had a professional boxing record of 20-5, and is best known for sucker-punching Richard Grant in November 2001 after a purse match.
