FLOYD MAYWEATHER FOUNDATION TO RECEIVE $20,000 FROM CHASE COMMUNITY GIVING PROGRAM’S FACEBOOK INITIATIVE

Las Vegas, Nev. (July 15, 2010)…The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation will receive $20,000 in funding from the Chase Community Giving Program-an initiative where the top 200 charities will benefit from $5 million in contributions distributed by Chase. This program gave Facebook users a chance to vote for their favorite charities or foundations among thousands that participated in this contest.

Serious about continuing his efforts to give back to the Las Vegas community, Mayweather reached out to his Twitter and Facebook followers, who helped vote the Champ’s charity into the top 200. Mayweather also held two Twitter scavenger hunts last week, during which he asked fans to vote for the Foundation. The grand prize winners of the scavenger hunts received an all expense paid trips to Las Vegas, courtesy of Rocksoftware and company President and CEO John Shahidi, to meet Mayweather at the Mayweather Boxing Club, where he is spending the majority of his time with the Floyd Mayweather Foundation summer boxing camp. Both Mayweather’s supporters and his Foundation walk away rewarded.

“I want to thank all the supporters who participated and voted for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation,” said Mayweather. “So many different charities and organizations were up for voting, and to finish in the top 200 is a great accomplishment. This wasn’t an easy task and I congratulate my team for their efforts. I am really excited for the Foundation, as I always want to continue to give back.”
