he is the number #1 ranked guy by the WBC. He beat Garcia for the international belt and a top 5 ranking. Chavez was #1 but decided to campaign at MW, Alvarez ,the number 2, team decided that he wasn't ready to be world champ just yet and rhodes the number 3 guy got leap frog due to the WBC feeling that Tony's win over Garcia was more impressive than Rhodes. Cintron got dropped as well as other guys for different reasons.

People think that the WBC some how pulled a fast one, but in all honest there were certain things that took place to cause Margarito to shoot up the rankings.

I doubt that you care but in case you were curious I can break down why Tony is ranked as high as he is. FWIW the WBC reached out to each and everyone of the top 5 guys but they decided not to challenge for the vacant belt for various reasons.
