Whilst it may be the case that Arum is lying and no negotiations have taken place or there is no contract, the point I fail to see is that if this were the case, why would both GBP and Team Mayweather stay silent? As even they know by staying silent they are going to get the blame for 'ducking' and being scared of Pac etc. I find it hard to believe professionals like them would do that knowing they're going to be the scapegoat. And I fail to see why Arum would lie about something this big where it can easily be debunked, as if any of GBP and Team Mayweather said anything, he would take a big hit and other promoters will be reluctant to deal with him (which he may want - keep it in house) and the fans will dislike him, which could have an effect on his shows.

But I guess we'll have to wait until the deadline and then we'll find out what really has been going on. I think it's hard for anyone to say for certain what's been going on until we get the other side of the story.

Fcastro1 you are right about floyd moving the goalposts but after the Mosley fight larry merchant asked floyd what the deal was and he said loudly and clearly that 0 days cutoff or no fight!

Why anyone would expect the Mayweather camp to negotitate the same way now as they did in December/January, considering the significant changes since then?

Every post you ever put up contains the word "*******".......man you are a loser. Logic means realizing things like Arum is looking at Margs and Cotto fights, why? Why would he be pursuing 2 fights when we all know Cotto would sign to fight him in a second and meet all Arum's demands?

He is looking at 2 fights because they are options, that's why. Cotto brings in more money than a Margs fight and Margs can't even fight in the US, so why even bother with Margs at all? He is just an option that would allow Arum to keep more money in house as would Cotto. But why you ask? I'll tell you why since all you seem to know is Mayweather is GOD and "*******".

They already have a tentative date set for an HBO PPV event on 11-13-2010 (that's November 13th of this year in case you don't know what a date is) and need to find an opponent for that date. But why would they wait until mid July to even try to find an opponent for such a big fight that needs promoting for so long to generate enough revenue to make it worthwhile to even have it in the first place (revenue means money)?

Well, I'll answer that for you too, they have been trying to negotiate with a certain fighter (I won't speculate as to not hurt anyone's feelings here) and the negotiations have not been finalized so they have to pursue other options that bring in enough money to meet Top Ranks financial obligations to Pacquiao's salary and to HBO and the venue and all other parties involved.

Or they have duped ESPN, and other knowledgeable boxing analysts, and sportswriters, and fans, and GBP into thinking that negotiations were taking place when in fact they never were and have been running rampant with false allegations in the media lately. A certain fighter has allowed himself to be cast in a certain light and allowed his own character to be tarnished by these false allegations and said nothing about the incident in his own defense, nor has anyone close to him bothered to speak up on his behalf to defend there beloved family member or friend.

This could be pretty close to a defamation of character situation if true, and I guess they are just waiting to publicly announce the court case for suing Pac and Top Rank in the coming days. This would be a perfect time and opportunity for a certain fighter to expose old man Arum as a liar and very easy to do so but I guess the conspiracy is just too complicated for a "*******" like me to conceive- even though Pacquiao is not my favorite boxer
