Boxing is too much of "build the fight up" right now. Are there any statistics that show that "tune-up" and "build-up" actually work in today's boxing?

I think this article is 100% correct. 2010 has been poor because it is in rebuilding mode so the big fights can happen next year. You didn't get Alexander V Bradley because they needed a fight or two to build their names, you didn't get Lopez V Caballero(although I don't think this fight happens til 2012), and Haye V Klitchko still beating around the bush. There are other fights that have major interest but for most of them these are fresh faces that have came out of no where and need another fight or two to really get the ball rolling. I think we will be much happier with next years fights.Comment

even the Super Six is an example of the type of egos and business that stifles boxing's progress and popularity. Almost ever fight has been delayed because of BS and then you have dudes like Froch threatening to pull out.Comment
