Kinda doubtful that Tua fights a top contender to position himself for any kind of title shot, though I'd love to see him fight Peter, Arreola, Adamek or Briggs. Vitali is 39 and older than Briggs, is a slow starter and Shannon a fast one, so anything can happen.
I'm having a hard time imagining Briggs lasting 3 rounds with anybody in this stage of his career and even a harder time imagining Wlad getting into the ring with Tua.
It would have to be in the first round just before he gasses out.
Briggs should first fight a competitive fight that goes more than just a few rounds so he can prove that he deserves a title shot. There are a lot of fighters that fit that profile so why doesn't Briggs fight these guys first?
It used to be so hard to get a title shot but now days, you just need a pulse and barely breathing!!!
I don't even blame Briggs .... but someone from the "other" camp should stipulate something like what I suggested.
Imagine if Barrett knocks Tua out cold with a backhand, Briggs beats Vitali by accidental headbutt, Wlad stops himself with a Tyson Fury uppercut in the Povetkin fight and Haye retires from boxing a day before he's scheduled to fight Harrison to go and run a chicken farm... then we'd all have a right mess on our hands.
