What the hell happened to Oliveria on FNF

Emmanuel Augustus beat Ray Oliveira by technical knockout in a non-title 10-round junior welterweight fight Friday night, after the referee determined Oliveira could not continue after eight rounds.
Oliveira was taken to a Portsmouth, N.H., hospital for tests and was released, according to his promoter Jimmy Burchfield.
After getting hit by a left hook in the eighth round, Oliveira grabbed the back of his head. He was examined by a ringside physician and the fight was allowed to continue, but referee Steve Smoger stopped the bout at the end of the round.
Jim Isperdulli, Oliveira's trainer, said the fighter was complaining about pain in the back of his neck, loss of feeling in his arms and was shaking. Oliveira was concious when he left the ring.
"I hope he's OK," Augustus said. "I mean, he's trying to do his thing; I'm trying to do my thing."
It was the second straight knockout loss for Oliveira, of New Bedford, Mass. In December he was knocked out by Ricky Hatton in Manchester, England.
Augustus, of Brownsville, Texas, improved to 30-25-6 with 16 knockouts. Oliveira's record is 47-11-2, with 22 knockouts.

The only problem is is that i need to find a clip of this fight. I watched it and it really freaked me out. Those of you that watched it know what i mean.

Moments ago, *********.com had a chance to speak with "Sucra" Ray Oliveira's promoter, CES president Jimmy Burchfield to get an update on his condition. Burchfield stated, "Well thank God at about 2:35am this morning he was released from the Portsmouth Hospital. He left the hospital on his own two feet. They did a complete battery of tests including a CAT scan of his head. He suffered a pinched nerve in his neck and thankfully everything else turned out to be ok." In regards to Oliveira's future, Burchfield said, "Ray is a true warrior and I just hope at this point that after a week or so of rest, that I am going to recommend to Ray Oliveira very, very seriously that boxing is over for him. Hopefully we will take my advice and move on to the second phase of his life. I feel very strongly that I do not want Ray Oliveira to fight anymore." Prior to his last two fights, Ray Oliveira (47-11-2, 22KO's) had never been stopped in a professional bout. His first stoppage came at the hands of now IBF Jr. Welterweight Champion Ricky Hatton, and his second occurred Friday night against veteran Emmanuel Augustus.

nah, didnt look severe. he wasnt like dazed or anything and grabbing his neck. he just backed off and put his glove back there, then augustus gave him a couple opportunities to land on him by not aiming for oliveras head, olivera came back like a warrior and put him on the ropes, and landed a couple of good blows.

after he grabbed his head, he came with a bunch of flurries that some landed on Augustus, but during those flurries, you could tell that Olivera was kinda crying, while he was holding his head...

Hell yeah it looked severe. When was the last time you saw a boxer in the middle of the fight walk away holding his neck crying. You said that he threw some flurries and landed a few good shots, bull **** he flurried out of fright. He was walking around crying in agony. I personally havent seen something like this since MCall started crying. The difference was that mcalls was mental and old ray boys was very much a physical thing. He even agustus looked at the ref waiting for him to stop the fight. And the only reason why he wasnt hurt permanitly was because Emmanual Didnt hit him in the head anymore. Maybe like 2 more shots the hole round.

A pinched nerve. Thats good to hear. It would explain why he had sharp pains and lost feeling in his limbs. Thats similar to what you feel when you have a stroke.
