Pavlik would kill Chavez. I don't see Pavlik as finished. He was outboxing Martinez in the middle rounds. He's basic, he's slow, but he's fairly smart in the ring. A lot smarter than Chavez. When you throw in the difference in strength? Pavlik will destroy Chavez Jr. if this fight is made.

There is a difference between getting your ass beat by Sergio Martinez and getting pounded on by Matt Vanda.

Unless they're are making this fight because they know Pavlik is on a full blown drinking binge I don't understand Arum's logic.

pavlik is not done, jcc can win if he dance n box for 12 rounds which i dont see happening, i think pavlik will really hurt jcc, if jcc even comes close to knocking out pavlik then something is up...pavlik is not finished, he just needs to change trainers before he reaches 6 losses ala zab judah...pavlik should fight at 168 and stay there...im just not sold on jcc yet

JCC Jr should fight Ricardo Mayorga on September as a barometer to see if he could has really improved since going with Roach.

Wins that fight and depending on how he looks you never know. Him against Pavlik might be a hell of a fight.

Pavlik shouldn't fight at middleweight anymore......but this would be a hell of a fight.

If Pavlik can make weight healthy(which is a big IF) I'd favoir him.

i agree pavlik is very basic but also very strong..ppl look at pavlik and see a skinny white boy...but whoa does he have power...u dont need to b buff to have power...pavlik will kill jcc and take away his confidence...this is a fight where pavlik makes statement saying are u kidding me to think ''I'' was finished while jcc lays hurt on the floor...i have enormous respect for freddie roach i wish he was training me..but with jcc its only a matter a time when he bites off more than he can swallow and choke...pavlik with long arms will plant that power right on his chin

The day Chavez Jr fights a top 10 fighter is the day pigs fly. Nearly 45 fights and has never stepped foot in the right with a legit fighter, the trend will not end there. Fight will not happen.

in the middleweight division the torch is always passed, a clear loss tells you to move up frm hopkins-taylor-pavlik-martinez, pavlik is playing with fire staying at 160 especially to fight jcc...if he can eat and drink water and still make 160 then fine if not move the *** up to 168 where your body can assume its maturation to higher weights but when you stop that process then u become a zombie

Actually we'd have to give them their just due. They'd prove to be the ultimate duo but again Pavlik will murder this Kid he's to big of a puncher. He maybe a robot but that 1-2 gets the job done against other robots

If Chavez Jr. takes this fight then he has a lot of guts. I'd favor Kelly to knock him out.

Mayorga would be a more realistic step up for him than Pavlik.
