A boxer's age is determined by the amount of punches he absorbs
The amount of fights, along with training camps also needs to be taken into consideration.

The volume of wear and tear on your body.

Floyd been fighting training and sparring since his pops had him in diapers. No excuses about age, wear and tear are valid IMO. If anything the door is closing on PBF's prime. I already see that he's lost a half step or two.

I kind of agree with the TS. He makes a good point

This floyd is older than pac is silly talk to compare it when fighters are outta there prime.

It plays a part age but its more of a style, mentality and how your career is to determine when somebody is past it. Not just age

Old or past your prime does not necessarily reflect age so floyd being older doesn't mean ****...

Compare their records and the amount of wars each fighter has been through, but this is still to early to tell to be honest...

A great example is Fernando Vargas, he was past his prime before he even hit 30 because of the wear and tear he took, plus he had less then 30 fights before everyone knew he had nothing left. If he took a different path and not fought Tito so soon, his path "may" have been different.

Just an example, don't read to much into it...I'm not comparing anyone to Vargas..(that would be silly)

hard to do when Mayweather is older then Manny, he will get "old" and slower before Manny, the fight will happen, it might now happen until May 2011 but it will happen

Floyd's such a genius. Good thing he has that age advantage over Manny and all .

I don't get it. When did pullcounter go from young poster fairly knowledgeable and eager to learn to this lame version with the corny chick in his avi?

Actually, Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver is an excellent example of that.

While they are only two months apart in age, when they fought.. Tarver had a short AM. record and only had about 24 pro fights at the time, while Roy had over 130 am. fights and was going into his 51st pro fight.

Even right now, at 41... Tarver is still relatively young in terms of his body.. he only has about 33 pro fights right now.

And also the style....and a good example is Hopkins and other counterpunchers who didn't get hit a lot. Reason why JMM is still fighting at a high level while Morales and Barrera are spent.

floyd never waited for anyone to get old. he called out both DLH and mosley in their primes and both turned him down, he wasnt a big name back then yet a very dangerous challenge. then when floyd fought his way to becoming #1 p4p they were willing to fight him, u can say floyds wins over them arent as great as they would have been if shane and oscar were younger, but u cant say he waited for them to get old cuz thats simply not true.

that said theres no reason to think hes doing it with manny. floyd has just as much wear and tear on his body as manny does given that hes literally been boxing since before he could stand up, even though he hasnt been in as many wars as manny.
