A chance, yes. But I don't favour him.

As you point out, he's smaller and borderline shot. I think the Vazquez KO may be misleading as that's a guy who's even more past-it than he is.

I give him the chance on the basis that I think JuanMa is starting to look ripe for the taking (erm, no ****) and Rafael is a great fighter and a warrior and it's not impossible that he has one last great night.

He better have the best night of his life......

JuanMa does get hit a lot but it will be interesting to see the strategy Rafa will employ in that fight.

If he comes out and tried to stand with him, it's over in under 2 rounds.

I think he has a legitimate chance. JuanMa will be dragged into a brawl and will get KO'd.

Then Gamboa will come and retire Marquez.

        Sticky this post!

If Marquez brawls with JuanMa, he's getting ko'd. His best chance is to box him into the later rounds, we know Marquez is an excellent boxer. He needs to stay clear of brawling with him.

I'd say yes if JuanMa was 10 years older...but that's not the case. JuanMa has the superior hand and foot speed. JuanMa outboxes Marquez all night long. However, we know Lopez loses focus and can easily get dragged into a slug fest, which defintely plays favor to Marquez. Marquez has power in both hands and Lopez has a fragile chin.

Don't bet too much on Lopez!

Marquez has a chance of out boxing him , i dont see him ko'ing lopez but then again anything can happen. If lopez wins he wins but im not going going to be overly impressed if it happens

Naw man, Lopez has the speed and power advantage but not the boxing advantage. This is a Marquez we are talking about here.

Marquez can box with him and if he can avoid the big right hand early he has a chance. If he stands and trades with the bigger, stronger Lopez, it's over fast.

I wonder if you've ever even seen Marquez fight the way you describe him in the op.

He's got 35 k.o's in 39 fights. I'd say his punching power is just fine. As for his speed, again, I don't know what fights you've seen because he puts together some of fastest and sweetest looking combo's I've ever seen.

As long as he's not shot to ****, he should k.o Lopez despite being older and naturally smaller.

I think rafa has a chance.Or atleast i want him to. He can box, slug or whatever. Maybe rafa is done, we'll find out. All I know is after that JuanMa, Gamboa, and Caballero better get 126 situated so we'll finally know who's the best.
