Assuming Hopkins wins, he BETTER get credit in the Boxing world.

I am ready article after article...post after post...previews...etc...

people seem to be really ragging on Hopkins...saying he has slowed down...now he is fighting a real MW (they said the same about Eastman) that will give him a real test...that this will be a tough fight for him...he is ready for the taking...etc...

but I have a feeling that if he wins, people will play it down because he is just the more experienced fighter...Hopkins should get credit if he wins for beating a young, undefeated, full sized (and bigger) MW, with power, fast hands, great conditioning, and promise...I have a bad feeling that after a win over Taylor (again, assuming he wins) there will still be those detractors saying he is not really a great MW because he is fighting Tarver rather than the much much much more dangerous monsters in Winky or Sturm...blah...

If Hopkins wins and goes on to beat Tarver than Hopkins is the greatest middleweight champion.

Hopkins looked so sluggish in the Eastman fight because he adapted to Eastmans style. If an opponent fights slow, Hopkins fights slow and vice versa.

Hopkins has his work out for him in Taylor and this is probably his biggest threat since Mercado and I am sure some of you know how that played out.

I don't know why so many of you complain about those who don't give obvious future Hall of Famers credit.

Just like the reccent threads about Roy Jones and Lennox Lewis that go on and on between a bunch of idiots and a few trying to point out their ignorance.

Anyone who doesn't recognize Hopkins legacy and greatness is an IDIOT.

        Period.

There's no need to even repsond to anyone that posts otherwise.

unfortunately there are plenty of those who think his entire career has been a waste...at least that is how I interpret their comments of "Hopkins is not nearly a great MW."

No one is calling him the greatest of all time without question or anything, just saying he is up there with the greats. I think there are just a lot of people who want to see him lose for some reason.

You've been reading too many of our british friends posts then. Honestly the only people that I really see bashing him are the juyjuy type posters who think every fighter is garbage unless they go overseas and fight the british fighters.

Hopkins is a top 5 great middleweight no matter what any **** on this site says.

Hopkins has been a great champion for a long time. He is one of the greatest boxers of all time. Even if he lose to the young lion, he should still be considered one of the greats of all time. I actually think Taylor will win. Hopkins is more dangerous at age 40 then he was at 30, he is the best 40 years old boxer I ever seen. The guy is unreal for his age, his energy level is just amazing for a 40 years old boxer.

                Is not Hopkins # 1 P4P fighter?

What more credit does he need?

beatin Tayler would do lil to Hopkins' career. He already a legend and AT LEAST 5 time best middle all time. Losing would also dont damage much his career becuz, he's defended those belts fo a loooong time despite losing to a BUM once.

Hopkins is great fighta like it or not, but Taylor UD. nyahahaha!
