No, they weren't told that. They were told they were getting what they were paid but the accountants put down in the books that they paid the fighters 700,000 dollars and pocketed the other 500K. The fighters got paid what they were supposed to but for accounting purposes GBP said they paid the fighters a whole lot more when the did not do so

Because they were never told what HBO was paying them. That was kept from them. Then according to the NYSC, Golden Boy told them that their purses were 125,000 and 100,000, instead of splitting the 750,000 that was offered and given.Wait, so why didn't Campbell and Ortiz make up a fuss? They surely should have realized that they're being cheated after they were promised $750,000 but given only a fraction of that. Unless they had agreed on a percentage of profit, which I don't think anybody does anymore, instead of a flat contractual purse.
So the question still remains, how long are these fighters going to take this ****. They need to realize that they're in control, the promoters should work for them not the other way around.Comment
