    Carl Froch tonight (result included)

"For those at home who don't know..." Carl's an arrogant SOB, ain't he? It's one of the reasons I like to watch him, because as well as his obvious talent, venom and punching power I'd really like to see him get KTFO. Preferably by Calzaghe whom he seems to be spending his entire career chasing these days.

If only Barney had a punch. And despite Carl talking about winning every round clearly, it was only rounds 9-12 where Barney was really knackered and the 118 quite clearly DOESN'T mean he won every round... it means they gave two to Barney. I'd go along with that... he clearly won the eighth, and a couple of the first few were debatable.

Even though Barney was losing I was impressed - at least until the last few rounds - with his evasive tactics and frustrating style. Froch wasn't very magnanimous about him in the post-bout interview, but then he wouldn't be, would he?

One last thing... would you do Froch's girlfriend?

I thought Carl looked hurt tonight, to me it looked like he clearly did not like getting hit (I know that nobody likes being punched, but you know what I mean). He looked worried in his corner a few times and seemed a little hurt, and as if he didn't like it at all (being punched).

As for Frochy's bird? Nah, sorry. Frochy's Mum? Ah, now your talking

To be honest, JuyJuy, I'll have to agree to disagree with you on that one. I thought he had little respect for Barney's power, and that bizarre "powering up the hooves" dance he did at the start of the tenth(?) pissed me off no end.

When one of his feet was off the ground I wished Barney would have smacked him one then and there and laid him out. Then when he came to he'd look at his girlfriend in the audience with me hanging out the back of her and her crying out "Oh, Carl, the Anorak's so much better than you."

I bet he's pissed off that after filming his tacky "Cobra" promos people still don't use his nickname and shout "Frochy"

You know, I almost fought this guy at the ABA's in 99, we were in opposite semi's. I'm glad I lost my semi, because Frochy would of taken me apart. He was sick as an amateur, certainly hasn't lived upto what I expected from him so far. I really do mean he was SICK in the amateur's, the guy hardly ever got hit.

I didn't know you boxed, Juyjuy. In that case, I feel bad for disagreeing with you about the above. If you detected signs he didn't want to get hit, fair enough.

Barneys style is similiar to Moussas cept that Barney has no strenght in his punch at all to do any damage. Very ackward and unorthodx style. The fight got better towards the end but it was obvious that Foch was tired and didn't have enough power to land that one big shot.

Barney would make anyone look bad so this isn't really a great fight to judge Froch by and I think he was just so confident that he could handle anything Barney threw at him that he went in too wild with his hands down plus the fact that he's not really comfortable coming forward, I doubt he'd be so reckless against a big hitter. Who should he fight next though? Calzaghe's too soon for him, Reid & Magee are fighting in the next few weeks so we'll see how they go but they'd be horrible fights either way as both guys are counter punchers, Scott Pemberton maybe? fringe sort of guy and a good action fight.
