Has Bradley bitten off more than he can chew??

So short Timmy Bradley has risen up to 147 & is going to fight a power punching feller named Abregu!!I've seen him fight a couple times & I know he's taller & much stronger!!Bradley has been dropped a couple times by jr welters,do my family at boxing scene think that Abregu should not have been the 1st choice at 147 or is this just testimony of Bradley's fighting spirit, the kind of spirit that bigger stars have forgotten!!

Bradley shouldn't have taken Abregu as his 1st 147 pound test!!

I've seen Abregu fight three times if I'm not mistaken. Once on Friday Fight Nights where he was up against a fighter who wasn't very good to be honest. He had a lot of losses and was awkwardly retreating while he was getting pummeled. The guy didn't come to fight and was beaten into submission by the first or second round. I've got it around somewhere in my collection.

The other fight was the one against García, where Abregu was dropped once in the first and then again in another round. The second knockdown was mean. Abregu got caught with a left hook he didn't see coming and was wobbly for a good 8-12 seconds after he was allowed to continue. García started whaling on Abregu, but Abregu started fighting back, caught García and then dropped him. The ref waved it off quickly. If García would've had composure and a better chin, it would've been lights out for Abregu.

The last fight I saw him was in the undercard to Valero-DeMarco if I remember correctly. He fought some guy in Gutierrez and got dropped in the second round (I think). The thing was that Abregu came back and dropped Gutierrez in the next round and then went on to win the next rounds (or most of them) and won by decision.

If anything, Abregu is always cold when he starts his fights and tends to get dropped. He's had problems with fighters who aren't the most elite, but they're decent fighters nonetheless.

Timothy Bradley should be able to beat him regardless that he's never fought at 147. Bradley always comes in superb condition and is very fast and has great conditioning and nice combinations. Abregu should have the edge in power, but Bradley is the better fighter. He should be able to beat Abregu by decision. The only thing that flashes in my mind occasionally is that nasty first round knockdown Bradley suffered against Holt...that was Pacquiao/Hatton stuff right there. I thought Bradley was out.

I haven't read the general consensus on this fight, but between Abregu's and Bradley's past fights, I'd say Timmy takes it.

Abregu isnt very good. He has pop in his right hand but thats abaout it, one dimensional. Bradley should box circles around this guy.

Bradley will be in danger for this fight. Abregu is a Hard Hitter, it takes only one punch to change the game.

I just read that Bradley struggled in his 1st part of sparring against big sparmates. Pac when he moves up to welter did not struggled in sparring. Bradley was a Featherfisted at 140, I dont think he can hurt abregu who was a Big Welter.

ive only seen abregu fight once against guiterrez and he looked pretty good against a guy who is a solid gatekeeper and with this being bradleys first fight at 147 i think he might be in for a bit of surprise and maybe an upset. from what i can remember abregu reminded me of a poor mans sergio martinez with decent pop and speed. should be a good fight and to be honest i dont think this is a good move by bradley because a win means nothing to the average fan and a loss will make him look like another hyped up bum to the casual fan.

Abregu is a big puncher but I think Bradley's quick punch and duck style will trouble him and allow Bradley to easily outpoint him.

Bradley could get caught and dropped but I think he is well aware of Abregu's power and will have his gloves up all night. I see Abregu getting tired as the fight progresses and may get dropped in the late rds.

Bradley was only dropped pro or amateur, against Holt who's one of the hardest punchers in boxing (especially with his left hook) despite what his record says. Hes just a bad finisher. I don't think Abregu is fast enough to get to Bradley and hes wide open.
