After reading some of these replies I'm glad most of you don't work for any athletic commissions. Then again, some of you very well may:

Cotto never had his trainer look at Margs wraps for that fight. When ****m busted Marg's wraps the CSAC person in the room said they were fine, ****m said "No, get your boss this **** ain't right." Sure enough when the boss came in the wrap fell out and the rest is history. Two things... this doesn't prove Marg did or didn't cheat against Cotto, but it simply adds more fuel to the fire that a guy passed it in California why wouldn't it happen in Nevada. Secondly, if you think he got suspended because he had "extra gauze" you're ****** simply because Tito did the same thing and he just needed to re-wrap his hands, no suspension issued.

That being said if anyone has ever gotten a cast, you'll know that they wet the GAUZE then it dries creating that very hard PLASTER substance. Anyone who doesn't understand this is simply idiotic. Plaster of paris is not some forum substance its simply hardened up gauze which when hardened produce a powder like substance. Watch how a cast is applied/made on youtube and simply watch for yourself.

The lab said the gauze contained 2/3 ingredients to make plaster. the dry material (powder you buy in a box) is CaSO4 (one calcium molecule, one sulfur and 4 oxygen) The Oxygen is a component of the molecule, not an ingredient you add to use plaster of paris. You add water to activate the plaster (making a new molecule) and after that water is added you must let it dry before it hardens. How well could anything dry in a boxing glove during a match when water (via sweat) is constantly being added?

Yet for all this talk of "plaster wraps", not only was there never any plaster wraps, but there was also no plaster on the gauze pads.

I take everything Richardson says with a huge grain of salt. This guy is the same one who tried to imply Tito was cheating too.

He's from the Bernard Hopkins school of psych warfare before fights. He did this to try and destabilize the Margarito camp. It worked obviously.

The wrap was already wet as the article said. Had Margarito gotten away, he had ALOT of time for it to dry. Agreed? You have the time during which he was getting it wrapped, waiting for the ring to be ready to come out for both fighters, walk to the ring, announcements, fighter introductions and then the ref. rules. You have about maybe 20 minutes after you wrap or hand or more for it to dry. He doesnt sweat during that whole timeline. Maybe a little cause of padwork but his boxing glove isn't that DAMP that something like plaster that just needs air to finish to become hardened can't happen.

Go to Aaron Brothers, buy a $5 box of plaster, wet and mix it. Time how long it takes to dry and then after it dries, add water and rub it and tell us what happens. Don't want to do all that I'll tell you. It'll take about 45mins to get a solid set and after you wet it some more and apply friction, it'll crumble.

There's water-proof plaster, ever heard of them? You should check up on that. And this im pretty sure the block of plaster wasn't huge to the point where it'd take forever to dry. Your taking about a small sized piece to cover the knucle area. And if it took 20 mins to dry, he had alot of time till the fight had he gotten away with it.

They actually are... And, if you have seen their history of handling certain situations. you would notice that they are bumbling bunch of fools. They are up there with the TSAC.
