Comments Thread For: Timothy Bradley: From Hunter to Hunted, and He Likes It

By Thomas Gerbasi - If the world of professional boxing ever has a czar, I’d like to nominate WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley for the position. Why? Well, in a game filled with dodgers and demands, Bradley – while understanding that this is a business – just wants to fight.

“I want to fight Devon (Alexander), I want to fight Amir (Khan), I want to fight (Marcos) Maidana, I want to fight Victor Ortiz, and all these fighters,” Bradley told BoxingScene. “The 140 class right now is the best division and we have some of the top young athletes in the world heading into their prime, and I think this division could be something like in the days when you had (Thomas) Hearns, (Marvin) Hagler, Sugar Ray (Leonard), and (Roberto) Duran in the same division going head to head.”

Of course, then the business end of things rears its ugly head, and with different promoters, different sanctioning bodies, different networks, and all that other fun stuff getting in the way, the odds of getting something like that done anytime soon are slim. But Bradley, who was scheduled to fight Maidana this month before the Argentinean withdrew from the bout, still has hope. [Click Here To Read More]

If he fights Alexander does all the criticism go away?

Does beating Alexander make him top dog at 140?

        I say yes.

          Team bradley!

VERY SMART MOVE BY TEAM BRADLEY. I see alot of you dont understand the business side of boxing. Mayweather has rewrote the book, and now all the smart talented fighters are reading it taking notes and following his guidlines. Why fight Alexander now for pennies, when if they wait for another year or two and remain undeated the show down will have more meaning more intrest, more appeal, worth more money. He is very smart and surrounded by smart people just like Mayweather. Besides you idiots just dont get it. fighters, fight for diffrent reasons, mostly self serving reasons, like Money, family security. MOST fighters come from poverty striken homes and comunities. The last thing they fight for are the fans, only a fool believes that they fight for us. We are just going for the ride enjoying watching there success in unarm real combat fighting. So next time a fighter or politician tell you there doing this for you, nod your head and say sho ya right bra!

Bradley is doing the right thing. He is making a name for him and Devon to be honest people are starting to talk. This fight could be big when it comes off.But it takes time these fighters are young so let umm get a little name for them self's then have a super fight.

wtf! you like how boxers pad their records then get a superfight and look like ****???

wtf are you, a boxing fan or an accountant?

let's see the best fight the best. no one is gonna bad mouth bradley or alexander for losing to each other as long as its a good fight. that's all real boxing fans are asking for.

**** your "build the fight up" bull****. that's why pac/floyd ain't happening. that's why hopkins/rjj II was a bull**** as fight.

I believe Bradley when he says that he wants the big fights, and I think he could most likely beat all the names he mentioned, except for Pacquiao or Mayweather of course. It will be interesting to see him fight this Abregu guy, who seems to be like a Marcos Maidana type fighter but bigger with a bigger punch. And don't fault Bradley for ducking Alexander, it was Golden Boy who squashed the junior welterweight tournament, which would have been Bradley, Alexander, Khan and Maidana (or JMM instead of Maidana). But Golden Boy doesn't want to have Khan fight either Tim or Devon. So, let's see Bradley test the 147 waters (and hey, he is fighting an undefeated BIG puncher where one shot could be goodnight) and see what happens. And please, Bradley would make Victor Ortiz quit like a ***** like when Vic quit against Maidana. I believe this because Nate Campbell was a tough SOB and Bradley made him quit and cry like a *****. Ortiz doesn't have the intestinal fortitude and will probably end up with the Bojado's of the world, all the potential but becoming a never-was....
