He was so much quicker back then, though he's still faster then most.
If u check his punch stats, he was just as accurate but not as accurate as he is now.
What people don't realise is Floyd as a small/average WW.

At the lower weights the guys are less likely to have as much power, so combos can be thrown. As he moved up, 2 things happend.
      1. He got smarter
      Combined with
      2. The guys got bigger/had more power.

I think he realised, less is more most times.

Well, like most fighters coming up from 130 to 147 lbs, his speed is now less. & although he isn't as offensive with the combo's all his punches land hard and faster then all his opponent. IMHO he's actually just become a better boxer, but i still see all the same tools. Some people just refuse to give credit where it's due.

Very good point, thanks for the info. But i also think he was much faster then and able to take those risks and still always be back in position to use his defense. He did become a better boxer at the higher weights though.

he's still faster than everyone except pac.

he don't throw more than 2 punch combos.

his punches ain't that hard, which is why he should put together 5-6 punch combos.

nope. he's a better potshotter and counterpuncher.

but i still see all the same tools.
it's still there, but he don't use it because he's scared.

Some people just refuse to give credit where it's due.
I'd give him credit if he actually threw 4-6 punch combos again.

Mayweather doesn't have that overall speed anymore. Even at 130 Mayweather faught cautiously, but people don't seem to notice that. Just that at 130-140 Mayweather was that much quicker then everyone else; so he could throw those combinations. 147 was where his overall speed took a noticeable hit. He's still very good though but we're not gonna see those combinations unless his opponents are ready to be taken out.

Mayweather did, and Gerena didn't come out for the next round
