IBF welterweight champ Jan Zaveck defends the title against mandatory challenger Rafael Jackiewicz September 4 at the 14,000-seater Sportpark Arena in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Jackiewicz beat Zaveck on a close and controversial decision in November of 08 in Poland with the EBU title at stake. Zaveck have wanted a rematch ever since and here it is. [Click Here To Read More]

The writer of these European news really has some issues, doesn't he?
He doubts that Mr. Titov in Russia can put together a European title fight for July 30. Why is that an "open question"? Any substance behind that statement? Something we should know? Elsewhere it is quite clear that the fight is set.
He also claims that Cleverly vs. Murat cannot be for an Interim title because Jürgen Brähmer is "still around and active". I'm not defending these silly Interim titles, but this is nonsense. There are quite a few Interim titlists in weight classes where the champ is "around and active".
But it must be a good thing for an inexperienced promoter like Frank Warren to have the writer tell him what titles are being sanctioned for his shows.
Otherwise it's nice to get a recap of last months news, like the Zaveck vs. Jackiewicz fight and Senchenko vs. Navarro. And of course a repetition of the Sturm vs. Universum settlement mentioned elsewhere.
By the way: I'm surprised that he doesn't mention that show in Uganda where Holyfield, Botha, Abell, Levin and a lot of other stars will be fighting according to these Euro News. No postponements this month? -
Golovkin-Nunez is a ridiculous mismatch and a joke of a title fight. Nunez has never fought anyone in the top 200 middleweights and Golovkin will KO him easily. He will get his fake title but he needs to get away from the creeps at Universum so he can get some real fights against legitimate opposition and avoid becoming an Erdei.
Cleverly vs. Murat is a good matchup, but I can't see Braehmer fighting the winner. He's on the Erdei track. Braehmer defended against a bum last time and his latest defense is against a guy who Erdei beat six years ago.Comment
