I'm sure he still trained him for the baldomir fight. Someone correct me if im wrong.

And dont forget the opponent as well. Pacquiao ent no Baldomir.
Yea, but I believe Floyd Sr should be enough of a replacement. Floyd really just needs someone to hold Pads and watch tapes for him. Floyd is self trained at this point in his career and just needs an strategist Roger can do that from jail.

Possibly the most ridiculous post ive read today.

So Pacquiao doesnt need Roach in his corner either then?

When was the last time Floyd Snr was the head trainer in Mayweathers camp?

And i dont think its as easy as 'Roger can talk strategy from jail'. Im sure he'd rather have him there in person.

Agreed. In the ring, i never really hear all that much truely helpful advice from Roger, although he does know what he's talking about I think Mayweather can hold his own in the ring.

I mean, Roger doesnt really train Floyd. Floyd trains Floyd. All Roger does is play patty cake with him on the pads. Floyd knows everything there is to know about boxing. On fight nights when Roger is giving him advice which is 99.9 percent of the time "keep doing what your doing" or "just box him" Floyd looks like he's not even paying attention.

So just because Mayweather holds his own in the ring better than Pacquiao does, means he doesn't deserve to have his trainer in his corner?

So basically what we're saying is... "Mayweather is good enough that he doesn't need his usual trainer in his corner, and should fight without him. But Pacquiao isn't."

We only see a tiny fraction of what goes on in the Mayweather camp. Roger obviously does more than just hold the pads, plus Boxing is a mental game and if you don't have your normal team with you or a normal routine you like then it can throw you off.

Roger clearly has big influence on Floyd Jr and the reason he doesn't say much between rounds is because he doesn't need to cos Floyd is winning them rounds. They discuss it before and if its goin to plan Roger just tells him keep doin it, but when things aren't goin fully right Roger talks and you would know that if you've watched Floyd fight a lot.
