For one, the gym I went to focused almost solely on striking. For two, both of these MMA fighters CALLED HIM OUT, much like that fighter in the video. Actually, both fighters Javontae fought are being trained by who some call a striking expert, Sergio Cunha, who is a black belt out of Chute-box. Both MMA fighters are regarded as strikers in their respected game, but they couldn't last a round with Javontae who, trust me when I say this, was not even hit clean at all in both.
(Funny Video) Boxer vs MMA Fighter

Relax bro. I'm not disrespecting your gym mate or anything. Im simply saying of course the boxer will always be the better striker. Especially in a boxing match where the mma fighter will be taking his limited skillset and matching up against someone who specializes in that particular skillset. The boxer winning is no surprise. For one, the gym I went to focused almost solely on striking. For two, both of these MMA fighters CALLED HIM OUT, much like that fighter in the video. But what happens when he competes in a wrestling match where he wouldnt be able to punch at all??? He'd get demolished just as easily correct????
Would that mean MMA > Boxing??? Hardly.Comment

Yeah because a Boxer beating up an MMA fighter standing up is downright embarrassing....A fighter from my gym, you might be familiar with him if you follow the AM's, Javontae Starks, blasted two MMA fighters in his first two boxing matches. Complete destruction, it was so bad. Funny thing is, I used to train out of the MMA gym of one of the MMA fighters he fought. Obviously showed why I decided to take my game to an-all boxing gym.

The reason I posted it was to show these MMA fighters calling people out and then getting sparked, much like in the video. I've never heard any boxer say they can out-wrestle a wrestler, but I constantly hear these MMA fighters flapping theirs mouths about how they can KO boxers, and remember I've witnessed this talk first hand. Yes, it should be embarrassing when you go through all these preparations to fight a boxer in a one-dimensional sport that you have experience in and then getting sparked for it. I was only adding to the humor of the video, not to start an MMA vs Boxing debate because we know how often that gets played out.Relax bro. I'm not disrespecting your gym mate or anything. Thread video made no mention of the mma fighter calling anyone out or even being disrespectful for that matter. Only that he wanted to spar a boxer. Which is of course an essential part of mma. He could have simply been there to learn and improve his overall game. The reason I posted it was to show these MMA fighters calling people out and then getting sparked, much like in the video. As i stated in my original post i saw no embarassement or even anyone going all crazy. MMA fighter actually had decent footwork and head movement for a fighter in general.
All i saw in the TS's video was emotions running high which is common for any gym during sparring sessions.Comment

Look at the post and try to tell me he doesn't try to set a tone that the MMA fighter was looking for a challenge. When I'm sparring and my opponent makes comments, I joke around with him, not to let it get to me like that MMA guy did, especially if you're sparring someone you don't know in a place where you will not be favored in side-picking. Now, looking at their emotions during the sparring session, I would assume there was a little tension before the sparring, probably meaning that the MMA fighter might have boasted a little about being a professional MMA fighter. I would consider that a little relation to a call out, seeing as how MMA fighters don't run into boxing gyms looking for sparring unless they know the fighters and trainers, which this video gives off the vibe that he didn't. Yeah, the MMA fighter had some good footwork and and a little head-movement, but for an MMA fighter to have ambitions to go out of his way to a boxing gym he must be pretty confident in his hands in MMA and feels that it's his strong point, so it's pretty expected. Now when you say you didn't see anyone doing anything crazy, I'd have to disagree (if this is what you meant). The boxer was keeping his hands down and sticking his chin out acting like he wasn't trying, that normally is to try and embarrass an opponent or set something up.Thread video made no mention of the mma fighter calling anyone out or even being disrespectful for that matter.
