Around 7 per round. His arms are too short for his jab to have as much of an effect. He also stopped using his right hand, which also decreases his chance of landing. I think Mayweather would time the jab and neutralize it.

Honestly i think Floyd would fight him in the exact same manner as he did SSM. He will stand in front of him, plant his feet and counter with hard shots. Jab, pull counter, break with the left and str8 rights down the pipe. The only question is whether Cotto can have success with the jab or not. If he can't he gets TKO'd by rd 9 or 10. If he can he will survive the distance and lose a decision. Cotto doesn't have Shane's chin and floyd will hit his often.

I agree. And I think the accumulation of punches will push Cotto back. He starts backing up when he gets hit flush too many times, and in his last fight he got hit a lot and was even stunned a few times. And I don't think his jab would have as much success because its so short, and Floyd is capable of neutralizing it.

Cotto of old lands anywhere between 12-20 punches for the first few rounds, dropped down to 10-15 towards the end. He'd find his jab, a weapon he had excellent timing with, and land some good straight rights. That's a really underrated punch of his - he's not ALL left hook! However, as has been previously stated, you're just not going to land a left hook on Mayweather and that's Miguel's best weapon. So he has that taken away.

Cotto today struggles to land double digits. At JMW, Cotto doesn't have the same snap to his punches, even if he has better footwork and power. It takes more than that to land on Money Mayweather.

Cotto isn't one-handed though, he has a very strong right hand but he rarely uses it. The only punch Cotto may land consistently is the jab, but that would only trigger Mayweather's pullcounter. At most, 5-7 punches a round? I don't know.
Both over 35. And part time fighters. What a joke that you'd even provide serious analysis against these types of opponents.
