UFC vs. BOXING
Rogan says its incorporates all aspects of fighting but Boxing only incorporates punching? what he does not seem to get is that Boxing is as much an art as it is fighting, its the mastery of judging space and distance, hand and foot coordination, Boxers dont just sit there as a stationary target and duke it out like he is saying, thats what makes it so entertaining to watch, the bull and the matador etc.
Another thing, Boxing is more pleasing on the eye, back and fourth action is what people would rather watch, forget this "its because u dont know what your watching" who cares? the audience your trying to reach are the casual fans who dont watch it, all they see is two men rolling around.
As for Boxing dying, check the PPV numbers, look how much the fighters get paid, not only is Boxing alive, but the emergence of MMA has made it stronger, they have revaluated the product.

He knows that. Rogan is very educated in the fight world. There may be alot of factors in boxing, but it remains punching. Mixed martial arts incorporates everything at all levels. The same judging and coordination you mention for boxing is used in mixed martial arts, but it's different. Striking in boxing and MMA are completely foreign to each other. Add grappling and it becomes a maelstrom. MMA involves more areas, nobody can deny that.
MMA is fighting imo, Boxing is fighting, but also an in art form, you have to strategically find ways to attack the opponent without getting hit whilst trying to close distance, its particularly hard when the opponent decides to move, block, slip.
Boxing takes years to master, guys adapt to MMA much quicker.

There's an art to mixed martial arts also. The difference is that in boxing you have only one way to win, and in MMA you have unlimited ways to win. In boxing, you have to score more/better punches on your opponent. In MMA, you have more ways to strike (standing or on the ground), plus you can choose from any submission, among other things. Most people say "submissions are just one way" but the truth is that winning by armbar and winning by americana are completely different.
Boxing isn't more pleasing on the eye to me.
Submissions are a lot more difficult and good ground flow is more of an art/chess game.
Boxing is checkers
MMA is chess
To see someone achieve a flying armbar in MMA... is way better than seeing a KO in my eyes. Because which has been seen more?
Someone getting knocked out?
Or someone getting put into a flying armbar?
Which are you more likely to see in a street fight?
KO
Or
Submission?

Adapting to MMA may seem easier, but it definately isn't. Boxing may take longer to master and beat other boxers with, but the skills are all the same. If a baseball player practices his whole career hitting fastballs, how do you think he'll do when he starts getting thrown curveballs?
You say it isn't but id hazard a guess far more people with backgrounds in other sports have been a success than what they have in Boxing.
Boxing takes longer to master because its a more masterful sport, more skilled, some of these guys have been Boxing since the age of 7 years old and had 250+ amateur fights before turning pro, so as you can see, there is a lot more to Boxing than just getting in a ring and letting your hands.
