He won a few rounds, but it was more like oscar gave up a couple of rounds. He landed a few good shots but a lot were not connecting.

vargas put up a valiant effort and gave dlh resistance, but he didn't make dlh go "life and death" nor did he push dlh to his limit. no one says that dlh left a piece of himself in the ring with vargas like they say the raf marq / izzy vasquez trilogy.

Yes he did. But he was also using PED's for that fight. I don't think that fight "ruined" Vargas because Trinidad already took a lot out of him. The Delahoya fight took most of what was left of Vargas.

It was really the most impressed I ever was with Oscar. Vargas did well but to me Oscar put it on him.

I guess you could call that putting him through hell because it was a tough fight but Oscar gave way more than he got so it is hard for me to really say he got put through hell.

haven't seen the fight in a while but from what i remember they were alternating rounds.

1 round oscar would control it in the center , next round vargas would pound him on the ropes.

until the end of course when oscar caught him and then finished him off in the next round.

i say oscar took some lumps. vargas was incredibly strong in there , steroid jokes aside.
