By Lyle Fitzsimmons - Boxing is finished… say the masses.

    That’s baloney… says Nick Garone.

In fact, not only does the Long Island-based fight promoter dispute that his sport is on the critical list, he points a finger at those vested in mixe d martia l art s as having falsely cultivated the grave impression in the first place. [Click Here To Read More]

Boxing will never die. And I don't think it would take too much a change to make it one of the major sports in the entire world.

It's been dead long ago. It a fixed sport where the casinos mafia decides who wins many of the times. Clottey vs pac (for example). Have anyone hear about this negro peace of **** that sold the fight of his life. Well he had to because there wouldn't be no fight at all without that condition. Who set that up? the casino people. This fight where 3 to 1 on pacs favor. How can that be possible? logicaly because they knew the final result. I went to Vegas to prove my theory and they had a limit on paquiao but no limit on Clottey. How is that? Well, I just prove my case and make $10,000 betting on the street.
The point is boxing is dirtier than never before and is death and those that denies it are only the promoters. nitramzaid@hotmail.com

Why single out a a single nationality? If you desire a smaller participation on a global scale out of racism, then you are not a boxing fan.

I get what you mean about boxing's dirty past, and the current promoter-manipulated matchmaking. But what I don't get about your Clottey example, is that, when you are the mafia, and you're rigging the fight, you usually make the favorite sell the fight and lose, while associates of yours bet on the underdog, ensuring maximum profit. Since Clottey was the underdog, it would make better sense if they bribed Pacquiao into allowing an uspet.

Exactly, people don't realize that it makes no sense to rig a fight so that the big favourite wins.

"with gyms in every major city in the world"...and they are all in neighborhoods you would not go into without an armored car and assorted weaponry. There is an MMA gym in every city big or small - far more than boxing gyms. And you can feel safe taking your kids to the gym.

Boxing does need to make itself more accessible for young people who are interested in trying the sport.

Look outside of USA and ask the poeple in Montreal if boxing is dead.
It's full all the time and it's the talk of the town.
