That's ****** and Bert Sugar loses all credibility saying **** like that. We all know that Primo Carnera was a tall guy found in a circus to represent Mussolini's Italy. A REAL hypejob who couldn't box, just a big strong guy. Primo Carnera is like K1's Hong Man Choi.
Wlad on the other hand is a real HW champ who beat all legit challengers and had a brillant amateur career. If you agree with what Bert said, you must be out of your ****ing mind.

TOTALLY AGREE.. Bert must have forgot his medicin.. He doesnt like ex soviet fighters..

bull****...carnera was a joke back in the day. look at the max baer fight. he embarassed carnera, and baer wasnt exactly ultra impressive himself. either klitchsko brother would destry carnera, carnera was a joke even when he was the hw champ.

        Senile old fool.

Carnera was a freakshow. The Klitschko's are actually real fighters who can fight.

You people don't know much about boxing (Sugar included) if you think Carnera was anything other than a big bum.

My feelings exactly. Sugar is exposed as a senile buffoon. Carnera doesn't go three rounds with Wladimir.

Sugar has seen both fighters live and his opinion should be respected.
SURELY you MUST know that Bertie boy talks more baloney than is on tap in a bologni factory. He couldn't possibly have seen Carnera live. Sugar is only "well known" because he's old and wrinkled, looking like about 90, and presumed to have been around during the 20's and 30's when all the famous pre-WW2 figures were fighting. NOTHING could be further from the truth.

Sugar, according to the records is aged JUST 74, (right almost to the week) meaning that when Carnera was fighting, before the war (which was his real career) Sugar boy wasn't even born yet. When WW2 began he was barely 2 years old, in nappies, trailing drek all over the floor, but probably smoking a cigar, or chewing on one- at least. Carnera took up fighting again 6 years later, AFTER WW2, when Bertie boy was 8, and was retired when Bettie was just 9 whole years old.

AND, to make a short story longer...... Carnera had a scattered few fights after the War, just to earn a few dollars, as he, like everybody in Europe, except GI's was broke. he was just about slaughtered, with all the fights in Italy....LOCALLY. He fought Musina 3 times. I remember when he began again, after the War. It was in all the papers.

Max Schmeling did the very same thing in Germany, to earn a few dollars. I actually remember seeing Musina win the European Amateur Heavyweight title....LIVE..So where does that leave Bert Sugar, nowhere he hasn't been before, because he's a serial liar and maker-up-of tall-tales. He makes a damned good living at it, now anyway, when all the top writers who could tell us that they never heard of Sugar "unless he's the funny little feller with the hat and cigar, with a few teeth, tells big yarns..........)

The story was going around for YEARS, that Carnera faked that loss to Sharkey. I've actually reaad nobody who says it was on the level. Carnera was gangster bought, owned and fed.....

I hate the talk of old timers beating current crop in head to head matches all the time. Especially the likes of this one. Just imagine the size of someone like Wlad in Carnera's era. Carnera was considered a freakshow of the time, now put a bigger man in the ring who can box. I would take what Sugar has to say with a grain of salt.
