Comments Thread For: Abregu's Lethal Right Concerns Shaw in Tim Bradley Fight

On July 17, Timothy Bradley (25-0, 11 KOs) makes his welterweight debut against hard-punching Carlos Abregu (29-0, 23 KOs). Gary Shaw, the promoter for both boxers, finds himself in a tough position because while he promotes both, the big fights and the network backing from HBO hang with Bradley.

Carlos Abregu is a tough fighter and that right hand should be a concern for anyone that fights him...BUT I think Bradley speed and Head Movement will give him problems, Abregu depends on that right hands a lot and he also leaves himself WIDE OPEN trying to land that right hand, that is were I think Bradley will be able to beat him to the punch with Body Shots and Quick Combos before Abregu gets off

but if Abregu lands that right hand CLEAN, then Bradley is will be in trouble

I hope Abregu wins so Bradley can go back down to 140 and stop ducking Alexander.

Lethal? I would not consider Abregu right hand as "lethal".

Abregu is not the puncher that his record indicates.

Abregu don't have any KO's on his record that should scare Shaw. He ain't a garbage fighter but he's still just a journeyman. I'm disappointed in Bradley for snubbing Alexander to take this fight, but I'm still expecting and hoping for him to win it decisively.

Abregu is a dangerous fighter but Tim Bradley could be the next JCC Jr.

What he's saying is if Tim Bradley applies himself and keeps working hard maybe one day he'll be considered the GOAT. Until that day the title belongs to JCC Jr.

This is a set-up fight to make Bradley look good at 147. His camp knows Abregu's KO record is padded and that he's struggled in the U.S. Bradley will win easily, earn a ranking and start calling out the big names in the division.
