Overrated because he doesn't have ATG skills. If you take away his speed, what's so great about him? Most of his power comes from his combos.

Dude is a brawler with speed and he's sloppy.

Pacquiaos boxing skills have definately improved over time and he has a decent set of skills. In answer to the question his skills are underrated by some and overrated by others.

Pacquiao was outboxed by JMM but they were still both very close fights. Plus theres no shame in that considering JMM is probably the second best counterpuncher in the business.
Good post. And I believe Manny has improved since his fights with JMM. As you said though, JMM is one of the best in the business and he (and Morales) made pacquiao realize that he needed to improve and hone his skills.

Yes by far. I'm not saying he is more technically sound than Mayweather or anything but people portray Pac as some barbarian that swings wildly until he drops the other guy. You watch that guy train and tell me he doesn't work on many, many different approaches and attacks and ways of avoiding punches after attacking. Based on what some people say, you would think Manny was taken straight out of a barbrawl competition and put into a ring or something......

Floyd has fought opponent like Judah who are just as fast as him.

Floyd can still win fights because of his accuracy and defense. Pacquiao looks average when you neutralize his speed.

Judah? Who has Judah beat? Manny beat Miguel Cotto. Miguel Cotto beat Zab Judah by TKO in the 11th. Doesn't make a difference though. That doesn't diminish Floyds skills. Just like JMM giving Pacquiao tough fights does not diminish Mannys skills.

Without Speed both Manny and Floyd wouldn't be the fighters they are today.
