perhaps most boxing fan thinks that manny's skills are just average, offensively i consider him one of the best because of his power and speed. defensively, i really don't know how to rate him because his defense is his offense. he is willing to get hit as long as he can land his punches and that is making him exciting to watch..just like the ts quoted, manny is a freak of nature, he can trade punches up to the last round without slowing down.

i don't know if everyone will agree that this gift made him the FOTD, it just proven that not only good skills can make an elite boxer.

i couldn't imagine if manny got the talent and skills of floyd..lol

i disagree that if ever Pac goes over the hill, he won't get easily owned

he still has the heart & will to give his everything even he's not what he's used to be

i remember his 1st title fight (flyweight) when he was outboxed for 6 rds. by Sasakul

poor Pac kept chasing a much skilled Sasakul & kept eating a lot punches in return

but he persevere & finally knocked him late

PAC doesnt really have much of the boxing skills in a traditional sense. Thats why we all refer to him as more of a brawler than a "pure boxer". He is just an above average boxer who only has his lion heart, determination, speed, instinct, courage, strength he claims to get from God and his devastating will to win. Of course rising from the slums of a third world country could have also helped him. He is a freak of nature.
        That much I'll give him.

That being said I hope he loses to PBF..... And I hate *******s.....And he uses A-Side Meth

            pacquiao is very skilled.

people usually relates skillfulness to defensive skill. a fighter pot shotting over 12 rounds is considered skillful, while a guy who choose to exchange for a chance to get the ko and getting hit while doing it is supposed to be lacking of skill.

imo, throwing 5-6 punches is much of as a skill as dodging punches.

define boxing clinic...if you're talkin about pot-shotting and shying away from engages then yes, PAC will never put on a boxing clinic

if you're talkin about one-sided beatdowns which some would consider boxing clinics, then yes, he's put on plenty of those

and some would even say that an unmotivated, sub-conditioned PAC used whatever 'lil basic skills' he had to outbox MAB in the rematch
Pac also outboxed Oscar and made him quit.

Moving up in weights without having to face any real solid threats doesn't hurt either lol. He's never really faced a solid lightweight, or any crazy WW's. But I grew watching Shane, Forrest, Trinidad, and Oscar along with all the guys who had brief stints in between those weights. Those who haven't probably think fighters like Hatton and Cotto are some of the best that did it at those same weights since that's who they were fed to watch.

There's a reason why Floyd Mayweather is not the FIGHTER OF THE DECADE and the reasonis Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao is being grossly underestimated by haters, first his mental toughness was questioned now his skills?!?

I can agree with TS on Floyd having more skill and at some extent Zab (IMHO For 3 rounds Judah can match any fighter skill for skill including Floyd) but Devon Alexander? LOLZ

He's a southpaw so of course his punches are going to come in weird angles but he has no Southpaw Swagger. His boxing skills are average-above average and his defense is very basic. Once those physical gifts of his start to diminish, he's going to get owned. Guaranteed.

It's frustrating when I read that he's more skilled than Zab, Floyd, even Devon Alexander, which he's not. Like the title says, Manny Pacquiao is a freak of nature and not much else.
