Who is the Greater Official Fighter of the Decade Winner?

    Manny Pacquiao
    2000s

    Most significant wins:

    Marco Antonio Barrera 1.......featherweight
    Juan Manuel Marquez 2........superfeatherweight
    Erik Morales 2.....................superfeatherweight
    Ricky Hatton......................junior-welterweight
    Miguel Cotto......................welterweight

    Losses:

Erik Morales 1 (avenged by stoppage)

How many weight divisions did he win world/major titles in:

    Six - superbantam,feather,superfeather,light,light-welter,welter

    Did he unify/dominate one division?

No. Moved through the weights rather than clean one out

    P4P#1 Reign:

Dec 2007 - present (so 2 years 1 month in that decade)

    Roy Jones Jr
    1990s

    Most significant wins:

    Bernard Hopkins.................middleweight
    James Toney.....................supermiddleweight
    Virgil Hill...........................lightheavyweight
    Montell Griffin 2.................lightheavyweight

    Losses:

Montell Griffin 1 (avenged by stoppage)

How many weight divisions did he win world/major titles in:

    Three - middle,supermiddle,lightheavy

    Did he unify/dominate one division?

Yes, light-heavyweight. By the end of the decade he held WBC/WBA/IBF belts. However, it is argued by some that he didn't dominate as he did not fight WBO champion Dariusz Michalczewski.

    P4P#1 Reign:

1996-1998 then 1999-end of decade. Became p4p#1 in 1996 (around the time Pernell Whitaker needed an SD to beat Wilfredo Rivera in April), was supplanted by Oscar De La Hoya in 1998, became p4p#1 again in 1999 and stayed there till 2000. All in all, approximately 3 years.

Who is the greater fighter overall? Or who had the better decade?

Clottey was in 2010. He shouldn't count for the decade win

I think it does. Roy career is over. So wherever he is not that is where he is going to stay at...

However, Pac I don't know what is going to happen to him now that he is a congressman. Will he fight 1 more time or 2 or 3 or for a few more years? I honestly don't know, I can speculate but I can't say for certain.

And, what will happen from here till the time he is basically done? He could move up the list he could move down the list I don't know....

As the title says. Which is why John Ruiz is left out.

Also, what do you classify as the decade?

Well the 90's decade was from 1990-1999 correct? Roy recieved the award in 2000 right?

So I classify 2000-2009 as the decade. Since that is what everybody else classifies at. Think about it Pac already won the decade award and had a party and everything for it.

If 2010 counted then why would they give the award out in the middle of 2010? Why not wait till 2010 was over with?
