Even in the Oscar rematch he was unable to put punches together...

However, even a passed prime Shane was still a top fighter. And, a 38yr old Shane was an elite WW fighter... lineal champ and arguably the best in the division that held Floyd and Pac at the time. So all credit to Floyd for that win.

probably around the time of the delahoya rematch.

      he was downhill since then.

      still good though.

the rematch is when you can tell oscar and him were on the downhill.

shane and oscar in the rematch just wasn't as sharp and good as they were in the 1st fight.

I remember him struggling with David Estrada then he had a minor resurgence, fought Mayorga like crap and got a last second ko.

Shane has been up and down for at least 5 years now.

He used to be much more consistent.

The minute he got off that stuff (he was never the same)...Now I take nothing from Floyd Check, you know that.

You also know Mosley was not prime. Still a good fighter, able to win by impressive fashion (against the right style, Margo for example)...

Most Floyd fans would say (in regaurds to Mosley beating Floyd), the same Shane that went life and death with Mayorga??? Then when Floyd beat him, he was back to being special.

Floyd desposed of one of his "Boogymen" in Shane, that doesn't change the fact that he was out of his prime...

in his defense he was old.

you know old fighters are up and down.

sometimes they look shot and then next fight they look like they're 20 again.

look at bhop's fights. so up and down too.

Yea I can agree with that...

That is the last time I felt Oscar was a real fighter. That was last time I felt that Oscar really wanted to win a fight.

After that fight IMO had nothing left. Stop being a real fighter, became a part time fighter, full time promoter. Didn't want to train hard anymore, didn't have the heart or love for it anymore. And, the fights after that he didn't care if he won or lost anymore IMO. It was all about the paper after that. Oscar was just basically DONE as a fighter after that fight.

And, yea you could tell Shane was going downhill in that fight. That was not a prime Shane. Anybody who has seen Shane throughout the years knew that.

that's when he showed his true colors as being one of the biggest bitches ever in boxing.
He's currently at the top of the rankings and the biggest draw too. He must've been doing something right.

They said he was too scared to fight any fighters in their prime at their natural weight, hatton, oscar, marquez, mosley and so on, again proved correct.

They said floyd avoids the fights at 147 their natural weight who are in their prime, again proved correct with margo, cotto, mosley and now pac.
We all don't know what really goes on behind the scenes. Perhaps it has more to do with managers protecting some of the fighters against Floyd?

Oh, so it would've been OK if he picked on a tomato can straight out of retirement, like like some fighters do? After almost a two year lay-off?

                  What a defensive genius!
                  He can also fight.

he didn't look too bad against hopkins (then again hopkins was in cruise control)

he looked sharp at the start of the mayorga fight but that just could be mayorga's sloppy ass being so open.

If Spain gets past Germany, we're on!

I think the orange will win their game.
