The weird thing is, I seem to remember him more for fighting in the Ballroom than on ESPN2 (fought Darrly Hallowell, Dana Rucker adn I think Richard Hall on Ballroom Boxing) ATleast I could have sworn that was the network!

          Eulogy for a fighter!
By Mike Marley: Attorney, advisor & friend to Julian Letterlough
"Julian Letterlough never won a world title but he had a world championship heart. With zero amateur background, he launched an exciting ring career after 'graduating' from prison. For Julian, it was all guts or no glory. To hear that some coward shot him in the back is more than sick and digusting. Letterlough was a warrior inside and outside the ring and he backed down from no man. His teenaged son, Julian Jr,. can be proud of his father not just because of boxing but because his father came out of jail and made a place for himself as a contributing member of society. My heart goes out to the Letterlough family and to his trainer, Marshall Kauffman."

According to trainer Marshall Kauffman, light heavyweight contender Julian Letterlough was shot last night and was pronounced dead at the scene. Letterlough was well known for his great punching power and the exciting fights he had on ESPN. He is survived by a son named Julian who is 15 and started boxing himself 6 months ago. Also according to Kauffman, Jose "Cheto" Aponte was found dead three days ago from unknown causes. Aponte fought some of the toughest fighters in the world at 130 to 135lbs including Mohamed Abdulaev, Michael Stewart, Yusef Mack, Teddy Reid, Paul Spadafora, John Brown, Tracy Harris Patterson, and Leonard Dorin just to name a few. More information to come.

this sucks, Letterlough was one of my fav brawlers, Aponte will be missed too. So long guys

the worst thing is, this was likely a completely senseless act of violence.. it's amazing how a life can be taken for probably no reason and so suddenly

Why does it always have to be the cool fighter who gets capped. Why can't it be the ***** made child ******ing punks like Morel, or the morons like Tito, or james butler

i liked this guy because he fought every minute of every round, didnt **** around, and when he got kd he got back up and wiped out what knocked him down.(a trait tito has, the only thing i like about tito i might add)

On FNF last night, Teddy Atlas said something about Julians life before prison, and the type of people he was involved with (bad news peeps) and that unfortunately he hadnt been able to keep the past in the past... I assume from that comment that somebody with a grudge from his past (and past "dealings") was settling a score the cowards way..even though he got out of all that mess yr's ago.

I was really saddened to hear about Mr. KO, I was lucky enough to shake his hand following his TKO loss to Jirov in Reno a few years back, even after losing he was a cool cat who took time to take a picture with me and my Fraternity Brothers, he was an awesome "TV Fighter" who was all about the KO, his brawl with Gonzalez is a time-capsule war that won't be forgotten, his brawl with D. Jenkins was awesome as well.... godspeed Mr. KO!!!
