When Tyson, Bowe and Holyfield were in their primes Lewis was far from his! He would have been beaten by these three because he was not even close to being ready, in a way it is bad for him that he never got the opportunity for a real career definer but in another way it is good because he was not ready for these three when he was weighing 220 pounds.

Lewis's best weapon was his brain, not his right hand...fighting these guys when he did was smart, I hate the ****er but he was smart!

maybe smart, but that's not what a true champion does, he fights the best out there, he was a coward, when he beat tyson he acted like he beat a prime tyson

Lennox came to Canada and developed his skills as an amateur, culminating in a convincing defeat of Bowe in the Olympic superheavy finals. That should have been a great moment, but, immediately after that win, Lennox showed the stuff that would make people dislike him for the next decade and more. Within minutes of hearing the Canadian anthem and receiving the gold, Lennox spoke to CBC and referred to Jamaica as his homeland. What a ****er. He was representing Canada and referred to himself as Jamaican first. Then Lewis went to Britain and within months had developed a full-blown English accent. Pure bull****. The British caught-on to Lewis' act and never appreciated him like they did/do Bruno. Canadians have never forgiven the guy.

              1. he dropped the WBA belt to avoid fighting mandatory john the bum ruiz, he dropped the IBF belt to avoid fighting mandatory chris byrd (he even said "im not even touching byrd") and he retired rather than give vitali klitschko a deserving rematch.

              2. he was a very BORING fighter. all he did was jab, protect his chin, run away, and throw his right hand. it wasnt always boring and it wasnt as frequent as john the bum ruiz's style, but his fights were usually too cautious on his part.

              3. he had too much of a weak chin. yes, joe louis' chin wasnt solid either but louis made up for it with his outstanding defense. and joe louis was never KOd by one punch. lennox lewis' defense was weak and easily penetrated, and when his defense was penetrated, his weak chin was just open for another one-punch knockout loss.

i cant speak for the rest of the world, but all lennox lewis has to do to earn MY respect is give vitali klitschko a rematch and make it a good fight.

#1. Ruiz and Byrd ain't even on Lennoxs level..their both bums...

#2. It's called boxing, hit and not get hit, his primary goal was to knock people out and he did that in all his fights..

#3. I guess because god never gave him a good chin he can't make up for it with his skills, from what I remember he avenged all his losses..

heres a reason to hate the guy, not too many people know about
lewis started boxing when he moved to canada, he was trained at the same gym as me GRAND RIVER BOXING CLUB until he decided to go pro, than he went overseas because there isnt much chances for a pro in canada. whatever happened happened but that guy never gave a dime to that lil boys club that got him started, the coach died a few years ago and he never saw him since the day he left. y'know we had fight posters wallpapered around that place from the chuvalo, norton days until now and after he never came back, we never put another one on the wall again. kinda sad to think about. the owner of that gym was a retired janitor he started off takin kids out the school yard fightin into the gymnasium. When it got full he rented out the top of a warehouse in a dirty industrial part of town, the bags were duck taped, the equipment was old and bought used and the fee was 20 bucks a month IF you had it. this guy spent his life doin what he loved, tryin to get kids to go somewhere in life, to think the one kid he got the farthest couldnt even come back to say thanks. I have no respect for the man as a person
