    just because you box doesn't mean you know how to box

          Had many street fights as a Kid and young teen...Told pops I wanted to box. He let me go to the gym to see if it was what I wanted in life. I loved it!

          Trained for two years, grades wen to ****, pops step in!!! Never went back.

          Spared on many occassions, never took a beating. Other interest took over after that. I'm 30 now, no longer a dream, or one I want...

          I do respect anyone willing to live, or are currently living the dream. MUCH RESPECT!!!!

              Never boxed but have a heavy bag and stuff. I can hit the bag for 12, 3 minute rds with a minute in between and handle it. I have watched boxing for some time now and have great respect for those who train the way it takes to be a great boxer......very tough to do I'd imagine

                From the Orthodox Stance
                1= Jab
                2= Straight Right
                3= Left Hook
                4= Right Hook
                5= Right Body
                6= Left Body
                7= Right Uppercut
                8= Left Uppercut
                9= Overhand Right

                If you listen to the corner and some fights they will call out number to their boxers. "1 then double the 2" or " 6 to the body then come across with a 9" Some Coaches and Boxer switch up the numbers.

                    I have had conversations with this personal trainer at my gym (good friend of mine). He played football (College and NFL), we always disagree on the same thing.

                    he says that Football players are some of the in the best shape athletes around (I think he is biased), I happen to think boxers are...And in my veiw, it's not even close.

                    A serious fighter, is damn near a machine! That is my veiw anyway.
