Among great Mexicans? Probably just behind Chavez, Sanchez, Olivares, and Canto for me. He was certainly among the best smaller weight class fighters, the greatest at Strawweeight for sure (and being the greatest in a class is a measure of ATGness all its own).
Thanks, I will try and get those fights and watch them. I have heard alot of people say that although Chavez was hugely popular they felt that Lopez might have been the best Mexican boxer of his generation. Of course he didnt have big names to challenge him like Chavez did (Other than Alvarez I guess) but his record speaks for himself. I dont know why he isnt mentioned much when we are talking about ATG fighters. If a guy became the greatest fighter ever in his weight class then he has to be mentioned at least in the Top 50 of all time, Possibly higher depending on how you rated him.

I have only seen the Ohashi fight so far but im looking forward to seeing more of him so I can see and judge how great he really was as a boxer.
