"Green Was Weight-Drained vs Ward & Will Be vs Kessler" -Trainer John Jackson (Audio)

Allan Green's trainer John David Jackson, who has also co-trained Bernard Hopkins, says that he's been trying to persuade Green to move up to 175lbs for nearly 2 years, although he respects his decision to remain at the more lucrative 168lb division for the time being.

But Jackson seems to have no doubt that Allan Green is a weight-drained fighter while he continues to campaign at 168, and as a result he'll fight Mikkel Kessler in allegedly the same depleted state that he fought Andre Ward. Check this clip from the interview:

already starting the excuses just in case things dont work out.
I never liked Jackson as a trainer...maybe him and Green just cant cut it?
whats he gonna do move up and get stomped by Bad Chad or Tavoris?

I was kicking myself that night for ever supporting Green. I could not believe that poor attempt he put up against Ward, he did not do anything at all. He should not have accepted entry into the tourney if he thought he was drained, money will do it though. How can he be drained when he has so much time to drop the weight? Change your dag diet man and pick up the cardio or move up to a reasonable, manageable weight for crying out loud

He didnt make excuses, I heard the whole interview and he basically said that Green should move up but he is staying at 168 for the money. Maybe that's just how it is, I dont rate Green as a fighter and I dont like him but if his trainer say's he is drained then i'll take him word for it. But alot of guys cut alot of weight for their fights and still manage to perform, Green is in charge of his career and if he didnt think he could make 168 then he shouldn't have tried so hard to get in this tournament. That was his own fault but people do things for money.

John David Jackson was a fine boxer during his time.

I really dislike Green and all of his excuses.

Though I believe there is some truth to this.

Green should've been a LHW for years and only moved down for the money.

Hell he started at 175 he should've grown into a crusierweight by now.

Tired of listening to this big vagina crying about how his intestines don't work right or he is drained.

This doesnt fly simply because "Team" Green begged to get in this tournament, so there simply are no excuses.

yea, I just feel like how you mentioned that plenty of dudes drain themselves but still show up that he shouldnt talk. But its always something with Green man. a few years ago he cut down to fight at 160 and that seemed silly but now he cant cut it at 168 but he knows in his heart he cant compete at 175, so he'll stay in this tournament and get beat up and then tell us 100 different excuses why he lost.
I'm at the point where its just like, leave the division or take your lumps like a man...
