Then all the roomers started to fly about Vitali taking another fight. Though Vitali and the WBC said nothing.

Again, on June 2nd Vitali said he was going to defend his title on Sept, 24th against the winner of the Rahman/Barrett fight and that he would not give up the WBC belt to take another fight. He said he had to defend his title before he planned for another fight.

Then all the roomers started to fly again about Vitali taking another fight. Even though Vitali and the WBC still said nothing.

Now the WBC orders Vitali to defend his title on Sept, 24th against the winner the of Rahman/Barrett fight.

      So what's the news?

      .
No news -- just a confirmation by WBC of what Vitaliy has been saying all along.

Here goes the news from *********.com (allboxing.ru reported this yesterday):

              Sulaiman: Klitschko should fight
              Rahman vs Barrett winner!
WBC panel ruling on Klitschko request for optional defense
WBC President Jose Sulaiman told the Baltimore Sun's Lem Satterfield yesterday that WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, "should, for the good of boxing, fight the winner of Hasim Rahman and Monte Barrett [who collide for the WBC's interim belt on August 13]." The story goes on to say, "a WBC source said the rules favor not to sanction [Klitschko's optional defense] and demand that he fight the winner of the interim championship." Klitschko is reportedly close to finalizing an HBO-televised fight against Calvin Brock, Oleg Maskaev or an unnamed third fighter in September at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. The WBC's board of governors is expected to make a ruling on whether Klitschko can fight an opponent other than the Rahman-Barrett winner as soon as next Friday.

Some of you Nut huggers need to get your story straight.

How many times in this thread have I read "What's the problem, Vitali is going to fight the Rahman Barrett winner like he's said all along".

                Bull ****.

He tried to fight Maskiev, and is now very close to signing to fight Calvin Brock.

The Maskiev rumors were straight from Klitschko's advisor Shelly Finkle, and several sources are reporting the Brock fight being close to getting signed, including Brock himself.

The only way he's wiating for the Rahman Barrett winner is if the WBC decides they will strip him if he doesn't wait.

Otherwise its CLEAR he's been looking at other opponents all along.

....Who the hell knows what's really going on in Vit's head? It could be an attitude about not dealing with King and trying to negotiate for Wlad in the background. Whatever his reasons for talking about other fights, I am 100% convinced that it has absolutely nothing to do with a fear of Rahman. Why fear the Rock when he begged a guy like LL for a rematch, and gladly stepped in with Sanders. The rock is nothing special at this point and I see no reason for Vitali to fear him. Does anyone truly believe the Vitali fears the Rock over any other fighter?

Vitali will blister either of these guys.

He will retain his title, and make his mandatory defense.
